Unfortunately the Gerrard slip is the one that the everyone will talk about. It was so ironic after his post City team talk that people won't let it go. Sure we wouldn't if it was anyone from United,Chelsea,City,Spurs,Arsenal etc

Anyways, sure we can always rely on Carroll & Downing (who where loved at LFC ) to put in the performances that they do most weeks... which is bang average. The only valid reason for both of these players to play well is maybe to give Hodgson something to think about when he picks his squad for the world cup.

But short of injuries it's probably already done and dusted. I can't see either of these being motivated or good enough to help us out.

Kenneth. I think so. They'd be 3 points less and us 3 more. Us on 84 and them on 80 this morning. On the premise that we'd have been 2 up and would've pushed on. If the game had been drawn we'd be ahead by a point this morning

I guess he means us picking up 3 points and city losing out on 3 points.

We just play the game on Sunday and see what happens. Let's get the win that seals second and there's a slim chance something dramatic might happen at the Etihad. There's nothing else we can do now, just finish the season with a win. We've improved massively this season and hopefully we can improve again going into next season. We have played some lovely attacking football and if we tighten up at the back we will be challenging again next season.

What is the point in being all downcast? We might win the league in a few days! Im proper excited, even if its a small glimmer. Ill be sitting down to watch everything happen.

Totally agree. Definitely going to be a great day! One where we could win the league, not something that happens everyday. If we can score a coupld early it could be interesting to see how Citeh hold there nerve .

Just being realistic. We might win the league, but it's very unlikely. I'm resigned to second place now and that's a remarkable improvement on last season.

The bottom line is folks that we are not deserving champions given the goals against column. We have had an amazing season and have been so entertaining. Some solid new players will give us a better balance between flair and steel and we will be right in the mix come next may. We had left ourselves to much to do and 14 wins in a row would have been an unprecedented ask. I am so proud of everyone at the club and we should treat Sundays game as a big thank you.

The bottom line is it's performances over 38 games. Whoever wins is deserving champion.

Very unlikely to be us this year, but damn close.

Of course there is that disappointment of missing out on the title when it was so close. Its a case of the old saying of attacks win you games but defences win you leagues. That has been the case with us this season. Our defence has been as poor as any i can remember. IMO carra retired a year too soon.

Hopefully in the summer we can bring in some top quality defensive players and full backs. We will beef the squad up as well for CL football. People saying we wont get another chance due to other clubs strengthening in the summer need to know we're not exactly going to stand still ourselves.

I firmly believe we are one of the best teams in Europe and alot of top players are going to want in on what Rodgers and FSG are doing. We set out to try and get 4th place and get in the CL via the qualifiers but we have secured automatic entry. We have exceeded all expectations and IMO this season has been a turning point for the club.

To be still in with a chance on the final day! We just have to beat Newcastle and see what City can do, why can't West Ham win? Who foresaw we would blow a 3 goal lead at Palace?

Istanbul happened. This can happen. Cheeky bet time.

And had we beaten Palace, that's all we needed.
