Aside from the centre backs I struggle to see how a different line up further forward would have improved us.There wasn't a lot wrong with that team today IMO,they just let their chance to shine pass them by.
I wouldn't be banking on a team with Alberto and Allen in it to have done much better, the attitude from the majority of the players was off today, they looked like they thought they'd win at a canter, not for the first time I might add. They were very casual in their play.

I think all teams have stinkers I agree. But the defence really concerns me. Goals against Everton, Newcastle and Hull today especially were amateur league stuff. There really is no excuse for that.Originally posted by Chazza View PostWe have been prone to the odd stinker as are most teams. Key to it now is the changes to the team and the reaction on Weds.
I just think its a sickner of a result really. We made Hull look world class and I had a feeling we would. We were sloppy all over the park today and its unacceptable
But equally as stupid is people asking for the manager to be sacked. Crazy

It has happened a few times that about half the team have been **** not just one player who you can carry or sub to be honest half the team could have been hooked today.
The defence was ropey and although Flanagan was ok I think Left back is a really weak point at the moment.

Don't agree with that at all, Moses and Sterling were terrible in their time on the pitch and the first goal was entirely Moses' fault for trying a stupid flick over their player's head in his own half. The pair of them offered nothing other than pace... and they only used that to run straight into tackles and blind alleys. At least Coutinho and Alberto tried to use the football, but the shape of the team and the general direction of the match was past repair at that point.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostIt's funny how Sterling and Moses seem to be getting most of the criticism yet most of the damage was done once those players had left the field. Coutinho came on and we conceded a goal, Alberto was brought on and we conceded another. We had no width or pace after the substitutions.
Really concerned by how poor Johnson was again, he had a great game against Fulham but his last two games have been dire. For a senior pro on his wages there really isn't any excuse at all. At least Flanno has the excuse of youth, though that side is definitely a big worry too.
I wish Rodgers would just play Agger & Sakho together. We're never going to know if it'll work unless we try, and frankly it is not as if we're going to concede more than we are right now.Last edited by MrMichael; 01-12-13, 10:51 PM.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

We have at least 1 performance/game like this a season usually happens away to a side that are considered relegation and who we are expected to beat easily, they press us constantly for 90 minutes and shut us out in their half while our defence makes one **** up after another.
It's been happening for years now and it will happen again this season I'm sure. As much as today hurts 3 points on Wednesday and it won't seem so bad.

Our only saving grace is that other teams competing for the champs league spots & even the league title contenders, apart from Arsenal ...have all been erratic. IMO City & Chelsea will push on.
We are going to have to beat Spurs. And take at least a point from the Chelsea/City games. I think we have a better chance of getting a result against Chelsea rather than City. Just a massive pity Sturridge & Enrique are out for it.
But whatever about injuries.. Rodgers needs to stop rotating our CB's & stick to a pairing. Hard to get continuity in any defence, when you chop and change in every game.

As others have said Rogers needs a settled back 4 and not tinker with it constantly. Also the gap between midfield and Suarez was ridiculous left completely isolated
Seeing as Countinho and Sturridge were injured I would have moved Gerrard up behind Suarez
As for Moses and Sterling , awful Sterling needs to go on loan ASAP and Moses needs shipping back to Chelsea
Rogers needs to sort things out quickly as December will determine where we finish in the league"All I'll ever do is all I've ever done in any job, and that's promise to fight for my life for the supporters and the people of the city"
