On the flip side I think someone on Redcafe posted no team top at xmas has finished outside the top four (bar one, can't remember who).Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostDon't want to piss on anyones eggnog, but apparently we've actually failed to win the league on each of the last 3 occasions we've been top at Christmas! (90-91, 96-97, 08-09)
Still, this things happen in threes, so we don't need to worry about that this year
One tit for another.

I looked back at the league at this point in previous years, the top of the league has NEVER been anywhere near this close at this stage of the season. It effectively renders being top insignificant. Still I'm going to enjoy it while it lastsOriginally posted by danperkins View PostGreat to be top but all could change after these two games. Top 5 is as tight as a fishes arse.

Top at Xmas and still the doom mongers are out with the negative stat comments..
Enjoy it while we can..
Our next 8 Leauge games we have an easy opportunity with Hull, Villa at Home and Fulham, WBA Away..
with Arsenal, Everton & Stoke in between..
Strengthen in Jan with Salah and maybe 1 or 2 others
4th place minimum, would be a realistic finish now..

Yeah, trust them to **** this up for usOriginally posted by Daffy Duck View PostI'm having problems getting into this spirit because I keep looking at the table where I see Everton 2 points off us, with 5 easy matches incoming. It's really bothering me, why can't they just **** off to being **** again?
I think we are looking decent for a top five finish, but the best thing is the great improvements we are making.
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
