His passing was a bit off, but I thought he mopped up well on a number of occasions in and around our area.

Yep, thought he played well, cleared up an absolute ****load. If that was Lucas he'd be getting 10/10s but I guess thats the standard Gerrard has set for himself over the years, he's judged very differently.

That is a fantastic 3 points. We were lucky and got the rub of the green but sure doesn't it balance out through the season.

Suarez, Sterling & Sturridge were excellent, we always have a chance when they are playing. Toure/Skrtel & Lucas/Gerrard IMO doesn't work. I know Skrtel didn't play well but **** sake Toure was like an absolute maniac beside him, completely headless and zero awareness or defensive positioning. Johnson has been piss poor this season & Cissoko is just a bit ****.

Gerrard said in his interview that it will take him a few games to get used to that position, but IMO he just doesn't have the mobility or defensive attributes to play that position. The pairing is slow and easy to break through and would prefer Henderson deeper as he has more energy. If that is the formation we are going to play, Lucas/Gerrard need some serious work or maybe some new personnel in January. Coutinho IMO could be the one sacrificed when everyone is fit.. lovely footballer and has so much ability but just hasn't happened for him this season. His end product and final ball has been way off what we witnessed last season.

Mignolet doesn't look great in recent weeks but to be fair i'd be ****ting myself with our dodgy defence in front of me & the fact we have had to chop and change our defence in nearly every game.. you can see a complete lack of continuity and organisation there.

Anyways, got lucky today but we've got some ****ty decisions against us recently and it does balance out over the season. Fantastic 3 points and great to see the SAS back in action

EDIT: Lucas's role was weird IMO and he looked all over the place.

obviously trying to accommodate ged but maybe its also about the money available, who we can get to fit into the team. if we cannot get the beefy DM the maybe we get the attacking box to box CM and slide ged further back.

so long as gerrard cuts out the long balls from the back then maybe it might click. the worldie 40-50 yarders are often wasteful. with suarez and sturridge and sterling on the pitch then there is a chance our pace will get them on the end of the pass, but often not.

really hope stevie can adapt to the role asap. Against better opposition we would get crucified. Just lucky we ar eso good up top.

If we spend big money on a DM in the window well then it will be quite obvious that Rodgers is concerned about the area & if not sure he may well be happy with the Lucas/Gerrard defensive partnership.

We have been hugely unlucky with injuries this season. Our whole defensively side of the game lacks continuity. Clearly because of rarely playing the same back line all season. So much uncertainty back there.
