Thought Gerrard played well today. He made a few mistakes and gave the ball away but I think he'll be playing there for the rest of his career now.
    Are we winning?

Really big win today, dropping out of the top 4 would have felt strange considering how we've done this season.

Looking ahead to next week and if we perform the way we have been at home we could easily be 7 or 8 points ahead of United given they have to go to Chelsea who are still unbeaten at home under Mourinho.

              **** the negativity.

We always get **** all at Stoke in the league, and bad luck to boot. Today, we battered them and got some well deserved good fortune for once.

Our attackers are better as a group than in the league, bar City. And even that is debatable. We have scored 4 or more goals in how many games? Do that regularly, and we'll easily finish in the top 4.

People are complaining in here as if we're in a relegation scrap. Get some perspective. 4th was the target, and we are on course for it. Easily. We'll lose probably another 3 or games this season and this will still be enough for 4th.

If you can't enjoy a win with 5 goals scored, go and watch basketball or something.
              Oh I don't know.

It'll be tough as from now on though. Spurs are still there despite sacking their manager and seemingly out of sorts. Same for United. Only 5 points behind. I think 4th is about our level now. Can't see us catching the top teams.

Getting 4th will be a real achievement considering the squad we have.

If we win our next four games (big IF ), which include Everton and Arsenal at home, I think we could push for third.

Also, how good were Sturridges goal and assist. Having him fit will be a massive boost, particularly in the big games.

This is a game we nearly always lose, the type of fixture we nearly always lose against a typically resolute Stoke. Great win.

All we have to do is keep on doing what we currently are and 4th is well within our reach. It would be suicidal not to strengthen this window in order to push on for the second half of the season and make the gap between 4th and 5th much bigger.

We really need to work on our defence. It is shocking it really is. Fantastic to get 3 points there. Never won there in the league have we? Huge result for us. Showed great character too. Pegged back at 2-2. Then 4-3. But we had character to see it through

The performance may have been a mixed bag but with our recent run of aways, today the result was the most important thing.
