I don't want to be down on Mignolet - he's pulled off some great reflex saves but the mistakes are mounting up. I can't see how his signing was anything other than a cost cutting exercise - he's no Reina upgrade.

All talk of them competing for the shirt was hilarious. He made a great start but he's dropping clangers frequently since the City game.A question mark on his mentality.He's not being helped by his defence making wonder saves doesn't make up for letting in weak goals too.

My take...

Tactical **** up until we were 2 down. It took too long to recognise and rectify that.

Once it was rectified, we were the much better team and normal service was pretty much resumed.

Gerrard accepting he wasn't up to scratch..........half joking about being on the bench.

He can't be played in a defensive capacity at all. He was terrible vs Stoke & had an nightmare today. When Lucas came on, even if Lucas hasn't been great this for a while now.. we looked so much more balanced. Gerrard pushed up a bit a looked so much more comfortable.

For me, play Gerrard behind Suarez and Sturridge or leave him on the bench. Our midfield doesn't function when he has any defensive responsibility whatsoever. Henderson is a different player when Stevie is playing too.

I don't think Rodgers has the balls to drop him, so if he's not going to drop him surely play him in a role that he is effective and comfortable in.

We were over run in midfield, simple as that the team didn't function well as a unit hence the change once that happened and we had Henderson, Gerrard and Lucas in midfield it was back to how we normally play

I'd have taken one point at 45 minutes, but it still feels like two points dropped at 90.

I believe Rodgers is having issues accommodating Suarez and Sturridge, but you can't really get past four out of a back five having a bit of a 'mare and a disjointed midfield.

And I was sure that free-kick was in all the way.
