Stuck in Pot 3 far as I'm aware regardless of what happens this season.

Based on CL quarter finals and semi-finals games this season and the form we have exibited since January I really think we could have easely competed with any team this year.

I am not so sure that Bayern or Real Madrid or Barca would have come on top if we have had played them in CL this season and if we can hold on Luis and bring few more first team additions I like our chances next season regardless in which group we do end up.

.........Liverpool, meanwhile, find themselves in pot three after tumbling down to 32nd in UEFA's coefficient rankings through a lack of European football in the 2013-14 season.
It represents a tricky return to the continent's premier competition for the Reds - back after a five-year absence - who will definitely face one of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Porto or Benfica in the group stage.

        LIVERPOOL BEST CASE SCENARIO

        Pot one: Porto
        Pot two: Zenit*
        Pot three: LIVERPOOL
        Pot four: Anderlecht

        LIVERPOOL WORST CASE SCENARIO

        Pot one: Real Madrid
        Pot two: Dortmund
        Pot three: LIVERPOOL
        Pot four: Roma

          worst case isnt that bad.

i'd be super excited with the prospect of two games against real madrid. I'd be fairly confident against roma. And with the right additions think we could do better than dortmund and get out of that group.

At least 11 of the teams above us are not in Europe this coming season so it should be pot 2 for 2015/16

I remember seeing a tweet a while ago saying that if we had qualified for Champions League last year we would be in Pot 1 because we did well in 2008/09

Think the Tweeter may have been mistaken. We were ranked 17th last year and the top 6 were all in CL this year, plus Athletico who were 11th I'm sure 1 of the other 9 would have been in group stages

Cheers Dave being in Pot 1 despite not qualifying for Champions League in 4 years didn't make much sense to me

Porto, Basel and anybody from pot 4 other than Roma. Might be nice to have a big team though- somebody like Dortmund.

Id love the big teams. Really test the side.

After the season just gone I dont fear anyone. We smashed teams apart in some games.

Yeah, a nice introduction back to Champions League football whilst getting points on the table at home.

Our defence looked like a pub team against most of the **** teams in England- Including all 3 teams that got relegated. Imagine them coming up against a world class team

Luckily we'll score about 11 past any of them so might get a draw
