Sensible rule change.
UEFA changes bookings rule in boost for finalists
NYON, Switzerland (AP) Players will no longer be suspended for Champions League and Europa League finals for accumulating yellow cards.
European football's governing body has decided to wipe out players' bookings after the quarterfinals of club competitions.
Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso was suspended for the Champions League final in May after picking up a third knockout phase booking in the second leg of his team's semifinal.
UEFA said in a statement on Thursday its "emergency panel decided that, as of this season, all yellow cards from the beginning of the group stage will expire on completion of the quarterfinals. Bookings will therefore not be carried forward to the semifinals."
That rule is already in force in the European Championship.

Good move, but 2 legged semi final means a player could still miss out.Originally posted by G View Post"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

The 32 teams will be split into four seeding pots of eight, and one from each pot will be drawn into eight groups at the group stage draw in Monaco on 28 August.
Can't wait to hear the anthem blast out at Anfield again in front of a packed Kop

Can't wait...I don't care who we draw either. It'll just be fantastic to be back in the competition.

Can't draw any PL teams at this stage.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWould love to avoid Barca,Madrid,Bayern for sure... Chelsea & Athletico would be very tough too.
Would be just typical if we got Barca.. with the whole Suarez scenario. Would like to avoid City,Juve & Dortmund in 2 pot.Last edited by Chazza; 27-08-14, 10:15 PM.
