At the least least he needs more competition IMO.
I agree we need to look at the defence this summer. We need competition at full back. And I wouldn't give Glen a bumper deal. But I would hope he'd accept a reduction as he's a player I think we need to keep. You and others will miss him once he's gone unless we can bring in a blockbuster of a signing at RB.

Bizarrely people would be happier with that in a run in as 1-0 wins are normal and normality equals calmness.

As Dortmund as have been mentioned, I read somewhere in the week that Hummels, Klopp and a few others were at a reserve game when we were playing City and were glancing at their phones cheering as our goals went in.

It's probably complete bull**** but I dont care, I completely believe it.

Think that's a bit harsh. May not have been a vintage performance, but the firat 45 mins was pretty routine stuff.

It essentially increased the pressure on GJ. He had the pace of first Redmond and later on Josh Murphy to contend with and couldn't over commit and go tight. Two often they overloaded our right flank and tried to hit crosses to the back post to target Flanno. Bringing on Agger gave us an extra man and then they ran out of ideas.
Really? Not gonna argue that Lucas had a good game, but he had a better second half, probably because it suited him with us being under pressure more and Gerrard dropping deeper. We were quite error prone in the 2nd half, but unlike the 1st, Lucas only misplaced one pass and made numerous interceptions and recoveries. When were were looking to play a lot more offensively first half, I thought he struggled more and his lack of sharpness was more noticable.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

This team is geared towards playing attacking football. We generally play with two strikers, we sacrifice being solid for being more attack minded. We could set up differently and we'd concede a helluva lot less. But we'd score less too. I enjoy our style and you all should too.

Next point. If we accept that we are adopting a more cavalier approach, we have to accept the opposition will create more chances. More chances equals more pressure on the defence. More pressure equals more mistakes. More goals. Etc. it's not rocket science.

Next. Rodgers continually tinkers with the shape of the team. It helps in an attacking sense. He bases it around giving us two strikers on the pitch, it keeps the opposition on their toes. But whilst a changing attack is a great thing, players switching flanks, inter changing positions - all this drags opposition defenders all over the place. But do you think this phelps a team defend? Do you think it helps create a solid unit? No it doesn't.

Add all the above to this: our defensive back line has continually changed. Be it the full backs - I make it as Enrique, Cissocko, Sakho, Agger, Glen and Flanno all playing LB at some stage this season. We've had Glen playing when injured. We've gone through CB partnerships ranging from three at the back, to two at the back. 4 CB's at home to So'ton. We've had Kolo, Agger & Sakho all trying to force their way in with extended spells alongside Skrtel. At the start Skrtel wasn't even considered for the team. It's been ****ing chaos.

So please, before blaming the players for individual errors, at least understand the difficulty they've all been put under.
What is this? Perspective? I'm not sure we like that kind of talk round these parts sonny jim

Rodgers key points since taking over was about scoring more goals and noes gophers done that. He did admit he'd look at the back once that issue was sorted.

Complete opposite approach to what is considered normal:

A good team starts from the back.
Scoring goals win you games, clean sheets win you titles.
Titles are won on scrappy one nils.

Is there any chance of getting Arn and that mad sod with a shop back for the last three games?
Think they both deserve to be in on this.

                  False

Our team is set up to attack. We score goals. We win games. The pressure we put on our defence is crazy, but then the pressure we put on the opposition even more so. We made Vincent Kompany look like a Sunday league trialist.
What I'm trying to say is that we play on the edge and we do it constantly it is the reason why we score 5's and 6's but it is also the reason we concede loads. After being up 2-0 last week when City got back to 2-2 they looked the more likely side to win, they were playing well we were playing poorly Coutinho's goal came from nowhere. The fear in those circumstances was real and somewhat justified. And having watch the club for the last 20 odd years it is still somewhat difficult to believe that we are in this position and won't cock it up as that is what we seem to have done many times before. Hopefully this side is different
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No. Has anyone noticed that we've won every single game since Neil Young has buggered off?

Yeah, I think our current run has meant some people haven't posted all year because there hasn't been enough to moan about!

I'm not suggesting sell him... But on a wages vs performance, it doesn't look good for him.

I think people tend to go a bit over the top in terms of criticism of players after a bad game, it's one thing to point it out, it's another saying they should be sold or aren't good enough. I think of the players that have been playing this season in the starting 11 they are all good enough, sure we might want to improve on them, but none of them fall into the 'not good enough' category.

The problem we have is that we have very little depth of quality beyond that first 11, today we essentially had 2 first team players missing and our bench (Agger aside) had no quality on it. We essentially have a squad of ~14 quality players, which is nowhere near enough for a league and CL season next year. We need to bring in a decent number of players as it is, getting rid of any of the 14 quality players we have would IMO be madness.
