They know though that teams just get drawn out by those tactics. We could have just sat back ourselves but we just don't play like that.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostWe didn't need to beat them - nil nil would have been perfectly acceptable, and their tactics made that all the more likely.

That's massively overdoing it. We just couldn't break down their 10 man defence after conceding from a freak mistake, same as virtually every other top club they've played this year so far. Effectively nullified is not the same as clueless imo. Don't forget we didn't actually need to win that game, a draw and the league was still entirely in our hands; I thought we were doing fine until Gerrard slipped.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostMarginally better?
They executed theirs to perfection.
We were neigh on clueless.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Without the slip they'd have had to come out more and more in the 2nd half.

Added to the 3-1 away defeat to Hull. We only have ourselves to blame if we don't go and win the league. It winds me up so much when our fans look to blame dodgy decisions for our failure.
Anyway, it isn't over yet. 2 games, 2 wins and City to drop points.

Aspas felt like a sub he made for the sake of making one.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostAspas was a strange substitution. Was Rodgers making a point? What was that corner about? I was thinking that if he scores or contributes something then he could become a hero, but he was just as **** as I expected.

We had 45 mins in the second half and aside from the Joe Allen shot and the Suarez volley we did nothing of note.Originally posted by MrMichael View PostThat's massively overdoing it. Second half consisted of countless crosses into who exactly?, mis-placed passes,, Suarez trying to dribble the ball past 11 players and Gerrard trying to be Superman.
Beyond frustrating

Not great to watch but they are horribly effective. I thought that they were the best team we'd played this season (in the sense of getting a result against anyway) before today and we're looking a bit leggy now. Have to see how the other results pan out now. Despite the result today and whatever happens in the next couple of games I've properly enjoyed watching us this season and we're in the champions league next which is above what I expected.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad
