I bet Gerrard/Suarez would rather swerve the PFA awards tonight after that. As gutted as I feel, Gerrard must feel 10x worse.

Saw enough from Ashley Cole today that makes me think he'd be a damn good addition for next season.

They know though that teams just get drawn out by those tactics. We could have just sat back ourselves but we just don't play like that.

While it was nil nil they weren't causing us too much trouble - do you think we would have been getting caught out chasing the game if it was 0 -0 like we did when one down, when everyone knows a draw still leaves our destiny in our own hands?

The most important thing today was not to lose, and with them time-wasting from them from the very first minute they weren't overly keen on attacking. Given that we were playing a team in second place, still with a chance of winning the league themselves, what more could we have realistically asked for? Especially when you factor in the personnel changes they made.

My worry is that Chelsea and City will be back and stronger next season, Arsenal too, this is our big chance and we need to take it.

Remember we were saying this at the start of the year as our big chance to break into the top 4.

We have Champions League money coming in. This summer will be crucial in order to ensure we maintain future title challenges.
