We havent always attacked from the kick off this season. Not in away games at least. And this should very much have been played like this.Originally posted by Chris View PostI didnt mean one way in the sense of formation or whatever, just that we go after teams from kick off. You dont start changing it 36 games in.
Their inability to create was helping us just fine until one of our players unfortunately slipped over. **** happens, just happened to be at the worst possible time for us in about 2 decades! I cant remember one post from before the game saying play negative, play for a draw and now loads are at it!
It was obvious Man Citys defence would struggle when we threw the sink at them, but FFS its not like its the first time Mourinho does this with success. It has nothing to do with hindsigt. FFS anyone watching the Atletico game (if managing to stay awake) knew what he would do at Anfield.

"Never change your tactics" is the new "never change a winning team"... doesnt make it a fact though. Horses for causes and all that...Originally posted by cannotmakeit View Postyou and everyone who said we should have played differently. Why? we just went on a 11 game winning streak and 16 games unbeaten run with those tactics, why would we change it?
Especially not against the Cuntish One...

Chelsea won't find it easy against Athletico. They've got to take the initiative and I think the way they've resorted to defending in numbers for the last couple of games, does hint at something wrong with their balance. It's not even a given that they'll beat Norwich on Sunday. Are we winning?

Of course it was the right way. We're playing at home. I don't we've sat back for our wins against City, Everton and Arsenal anyway, but we did exploit their deficiencies on the break. Chelsea just aren't a team which wants the ball.Originally posted by Liverpool View PostIf we played for a draw, they would have came out eventually a draw was no use to them, then we'd have our space to get in behind. I'm suprised Rodgers thought we went about it the right way yesterday regardless. Are we winning?

I'm saying the banners and the slip are not connected in anyway.Originally posted by ronanm View PostYou're saying the banners and the slip are not correlated?
Gerrard mis-controlled a football. It happens. Unfortunately for us (and Gerrard) it happened in an area where there was big gaping divide in our defence meaning Ba was through on goal. Gerrard realised this, tried to get his footing and the pitch (which is heavily watered) went beneath him. **** happens.
If we think that Gerrard slipped because he had a daunting thought about the banners at Melwood, then he's in the wrong game and we should ensure that all match day banners, flags, scarves and songs are not present during the 90 minutes.

I think the lad is overplaying the whole **** keeper having a great game angle, as apart from the good save from Allen's shot that time, everything else was fairly rudimentary TBH.
