Shown our youth and inexperience these last few games and honestly we've been holding on for the last 6 or so matches. Didn't think we would collapse that spectacularly though. Hopefully Rodgers can build upon the foundation of this season and these players react the right way.

That's how we play though; there is always bags of room for an opposing midfield to run into. And it will still be the same if the entire defence is changed.Originally posted by Rich View PostDire defending. Not just the individuals in defence, our midfield was wide, wide open.
Sadly it's taken the gloss over an amazing season and it shouldn't. It hurts though right now.
Kneejerkers should log off.

We were trying to attack that goal difference. A real heoric effort but our team structure is just not ready for that kind of all out attack yet. Inevitably if you go balls out like that defenders are going to make mistakes, afterall, ultimately most goals are the result of a mistake somewhere.
Nevermind. It's a shame Brendan hadn't really learnt from the Chelsea game, but if you're going to finish 2nd/3rd with little difference between the two, or first with a balls out effort, you might as well go for it. We all wanted that and we all knew the risks.
Still, a great season that finishes way beyond our expectations. Shame we had to lower them in the end, but the final result is great.
p.s. please send Moses back.Really?

That was a disgusting end to the game. Our defence is an absolute shambles.
There is a lot to sort out in that area come the summer. I think they just said that spot on, no leader since Carra left.
2/3 spot would have been great at the beginning of the season but that now is a bit gutting. That was a proper choke

Have to give credit to palace they showed some balls to come back there.
And screw this criticising our players. They've played with a very high intensity all season and they're ****ed. They've reached the end of their reserves.
They've done amazing along with Brendan to get us here in the first place.
Absolutely gutted - but we could not have asked for more from the players over the season. We are one or tow players short of a championship team, and that has showed in recent games, especially when we lost Henderson and Sturidge.
That said I would rather go be going through this than being happy with medicority - and luckily I feel this is only the beginning of something great for the club under both Rodgers and FSG.
But anyway - **** it, its been fun. Now to secure second and pushon next years.

I agree completely. Fabulous season. Horrible night tonight obviously. I just hope that BR can get seeing out a game into his coaching methods. Palace were there to be killed off. Should have been dead and buried. It's come close to this against City and Norwich - and others in the season - but we have to learn to kill games. Defensive weakness and maybe too much reliance on being gung-ho costing us.
I just hope that this is a serious learning curve for some players for next season and they come back as strong. SG looked like a ****ing ghost after Palace got their first.Felching ≠ Gerbilling
