We need a squad player. We need someone who's decent no doubt, but a bit ambitious to aim for another Sturridge.
They're out there. And perhaps not even someone to sit on the bench all season. There has to be games where particular qualities are required or Sturridge/Suarez just need a rest. We have plenty of games for three strikers and possibly four.

      Seriously? FSG barely understand footy.

Yet under their stewardship we have seen the most comprehensive performance by LFC in the PL in the last 24 years within three-four years of their stewardship.

Their top two managerial candidates - Rodgers and Martinez have proven themselves to be the best managers in the league this season while we were all pining for more glamorous foreign names.

They have come up with a feasible plan to expand Anfield while not bankrupting us.

Relax, they may not throw cash around like Abu Dhabi or Abramovitch but FSG are not idiots. I have zero concerns about them now. They are more than capable stewards of our club.

I'd rather have FSG running the club, with their emphasis on value for money and bringing through youth, than what Chelsea and Man City have.

And if we don't get out of the CL group next season, it won't be a disaster, it will be part of the learning curve and us getting back to enjoying CL footie.

Now is the time to be positive. If you can't be positive when you've overachieved and brought the season we're having, then when the hell can you?

We should keep all this players and add to them. I know people have been fairly critical of some of the players on there but realistically we can't afford to be getting rid of any of them, because they'll need to be replaced and we already need to bring in 5 or 6 players who will be of first team quality.
Yeah, most of our season, the only choice we've had to make is what combination of Allen/Sterling/Coutinho to play... and which defenders to try that week.

I'd add Enrique to that list maybe, he used to combine brilliantly with Suarez/Coutinho.

I don't really rate Enrique, he still has to do alot to prove himself to me
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'd say a lot of clubs in next seasons Champions League are in virgin territory when it comes to handling Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling.

And the CL is less physical (Atletico Madrid aside) than the PL, so defenders will have to find other ways to cope than kicking Suarez from pillar to post as that will end in a lot of cards and penalties if they copy the approach from PL clubs.

I'm not nervous that we have enough to spend, I am more worried about how we spend it. But I thought Sturridge would be average at best, that Aspas would be great and that Cissokho would provide adequate cover, so what the **** do I know.

I also hope that Rodgers has identified what needs to be done to make us more solid in defence, whether its new players or tactical adjustments I dont care.

But I have yet to see an owner I'd rather have than FSG, and I have yet to see a manager I'd swap Rodgers for.

I am utterly sad about us probably not winning the title after all, but what a ****ing awesome season it has been.

1)i think FSG have been very good

they were never going to have billions to spend - they've cut out all off field drama which is so refreshing. They back the manager, they understand the club.

                  2) yeah the squad is a bit thin this season - but rodgers always that would be the case due to no cl football....thin the squad of dead wood and get a good group performing consistently. All of rodgers, fsg, ian ayre etc have already said they know we need to add to the squad and will so for next season.

for me we need 4 very good players....centre half, centre mid, left back and attacking player......plus if we can maybe a decent back up keeper and another attacking player. That and hopefully wisdom/illori coming back to the squad to give us extra cover if they are deemed ready.

                  I'm not to worried.

                  3) yeah brendan doesn't have CL experience but he didn't have much premier league experience - he's got us playing the best football i've seen us play in a long long time and he seems to learn from his mistakes and rectifies quickly.

I don't think there is any need to panic - yeah it's a big summer and next year will be tough but i think everyone at the club - players, manager and owners have all shown the desire and eagerness to win.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

FFP will play into our hands imo.

Man city, chelsea and ourselves all have to take into account the new FFP rules which govern european football. That means despite the new TV deal city and chelsea cant go out and afford to spunk another 100m into the squad.

Everybody says they will be stronger and that this was our best chance of winning it but its not going to be like it was pre FFP, with both city and chelsea having to balance their spending. For me this means that the mid table teams will close the gap between themselves and the top 4/6 and our league will be even more competitive than it is now.

lower / mid table teams will take points off the top 6 and this will bring the winners points tally to where it is now - mid 80's.

for me we can still be in this title race next season and beyond. Im not worried about the others spending power because their oil / gas money has to stay in their pockets.
