U21s doing pretty well after a slow start.

        FT Trickett-Smith, 1-0

Through to the quater finals where they will play either Everton or Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wilson demoted to U21. Better get his act together if he's going to make it any further here. His generation of youngsters have already moved on (FA Cup) or moved out.

Demoted! He's 18! had a one unfortunate loan spell (Crewe in trouble being a terrible choice as it turned out) and has a lovely range of skills. He's no write off.

Not writing him off, and obviously that Crewe loan fcked him up a bit. But he's still the same generation as Ojo (also 18) and Kent (turned 19). Lets hope some of these U21 games can bring back that spark. Quickly.

Youth players progress is like a concertina - it can stretch forward and then seem to scruntch back up while other players are doing the same at different rates and times the result is that player A might appear to be stagnating but isn't really while player B seems to be forging ahead but in fact will end up developing to a lower level than player A.

Wilson is too cultured a player not to progress further, with Klopps dislike of loans it'll interesting to see what he does with all the players who are regulars in the u21s not too mention those who came back from loans in the last month or so. I suspect he'll end up admitting he got it wrong myself (even if he doesn't ever say so)

Wonder what Inglethorpe thinks about it.

                  U18s lose away to Sunderland

Liverpool U18s suffered disappointment on the road when a last-minute goal saw them lose 2-1 at Sunderland on Friday afternoon.

After an excellent victory at Stoke City on Tuesday, Neil Critchley's side went into this game with good confidence.

Toni Gomes gave the young Reds a first-half lead, but two late strikes meant the day ended in defeat.
Liverpool U18s: George, Lewis, Johnston, Masterson, Parker, Brimmer (Kane 55), Nicholas (Dhanda 68), Alexander-Arnold, T Gomes, Alves (Owens 82). Ejaria.

How much does Brannagan look like a young Ian Rush?

Sinclair gets up the pitch but fails to make a decent cross across the box under some pressure.

Spurs have two player with the surname Walker-Peters which goes to show how posh they are. Although I suppose two of them only make up one Trickett-Smith on the poshometer.
