Will Wright does seem to have something about him doesn’t he. And completely agree on Kone-Doherty he looks a real exciting prospect and has what the first team lacks especially out wide and that’s real pace.

Let’s hope these new CB’s can come in and do the job and show they’re good enough for the first team at some stage.

I wonder if Kone-Doherty could offer something off the bench like Rio right now. That raw all out effort and youthful exuberance and pace could be so valuable late in games in certain situations. At least Rio is getting a few more minutes now.

They both play the same position on the left & Morrison plays on the right & Wright , Danns & Figueroa are the number 9’s. We certainly could have a sparkling forward line in a few years time.

Under 18’s beat Burnley 7-1. Looking forward to seeing the extended highlights.

Got your wish SB. Both Rio and Nyoni played for the u-21’s today.

          Rio got 45 minutes.

Figueroa scored again. He’s coming along after struggling with injuries previously. And Morrison got another. Some good attacking talent available right now.

They’ve got 6 wins in their last 7 games now.

And not before time too. Figgy is in impressive form, that’s around 12-13 goals for the season when he’s still eligible for the 18’s.

I mentioned elsewhere that not long ago there was a story about Slot not watching an academy game arranged for him to check out the youngsters which he didn’t go to. And that there was frustration within the club about his use of the academy players and wanting Rio to get more minutes.

I don’t know how true it was but since then Rio has been getting more minutes and Nyoni has also had 1 or 2 appearances off the bench.

Now they have played for the u-21’s. I wonder if there was some truth in that story.

                Yeah he’s a fruitcake if that’s true.

                  Exit confirmed

Reading have signed young midfielder Scofield Lonmeni from Liverpool. The 18-year-old has signed his first professional contract with the Royals, having featured for the Reds' under-18s last season as a deep-lying midfielder.

Lonmeni joins Reading on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee. The teenager will initially link up with the League One side's youth team.

The 21’s had a hard fought 1-0 win thanks to a penalty from captain Morrison

And the 18’s had a 4-2 win against a galant Derby County side who were reduced to 10 men . No 8 for us Luca Eden is only 14 years of age playing CM made his starting debut & did not look out of his depth. Abe got a double & Sonni Lambe came off the bench for his customary goal

Watched the last few minutes of the u-19’s losing in the champions league and saw Abe was out there. Isn’t he still 15? I know he’s seriously highly rated and is being offered deals by City, Chelsea and Madrid.

I don’t think he’s played in this competition before. He also trained with the first team recently. If he’s as good as they say let’s hope we keep hold of him.

Quick look said he was still 15 in October last year so yeah he’s doing well playing in that competition at his age.

SB do you know much about Sonni Lambe? I know Abe has all the hype but seems like this guy is also right up there. He played yesterday as well. He turned 16 in November. It looks like the group below the current u-21’s has got some serious talent.

Do you know what type of player is he?

I’ve watched him in highlights packages predominantly for the 18’s & yeah he always stands out. He’s got good pace & he’s a good dribbler. Even when he plays for the 21’s he doesn’t look out of his depth. Josh’s Date of birth is 16 November 2007 so he’s 18 at present. He’s getting his opportunity with the 21’s as we’ve got a few forwards out injured like Gordon, Danns, Wright has just returned now, Cannonier left I think & he fits in seamlessly. Yeah the future does look bright but this is a tough time for the youth players to take the next step physically.

The U19’s can feel hard done by in all honesty. We led 1-0 through Morrison after a lovely pass from JSL & they equalised with a nice strike & then Will Wright was seemingly fouled on the edge of their 18 yd box but it wasn’t given & they went straight down the other end & scored the winner. They didn’t show a replay but it looked a dubious decision from the ref.

I just realised I misread his age and date of birth and saw the 16 and thought that was his age getting too old the eyes don’t work anymore.

I haven’t seen a lot of him but Wright looks like he’s got a lot of potential and was wanted but quite a few other top teams. I think Slot is being a bit careful with players like Rio. I’ve seen him talk about giving him days off and the overtraining of others. We’ve seen so many struggle with injuries I think they’re more being a bit careful with them rather than not playing them. At least I hope that’s the case from what has been said.
