It's an exciting to think what he'll be like when he's played consistently in his natural position, he's playing fantastic as a wing back though and his defensive work is actually better than our so called defenders. He's not as quick as I thought he would be from what I'd read but he does look like he's bulked up a bit to cope with the physical demands.

We have some brilliant attacking players, it's just a shame we don't have a striker to score goals or a defence to keep clean sheets or a couple of goalkeepers that aren't dog****

Willian is a carthorse. Markovic has so much more to his game and game intelligence.

Loved the way Markovic was constantly in Felipe's and Costa's personal space. Off the ball pulling, shoving, even little kicks. The man knows how to win dirty too! He just 'gets' football!

There was one moment last night for me which showed his skill and potential. I'm not sure how the ball came to him, but it may have been a steepling, spinning Mignolet clearance dropping out of the sky like some sort back-spinning missile.

Markovic had at least 2 Chelsea players marking him, but the way he brought it down turned and sprung another attack showcased the talent he undoubtedly has. If he had lost the ball in anyway due to the way it arrived at him it would not have looked like bad play, but to control the ball like that

marko was getting roughed up by the two ****s marking him. a couple of clear fouls allowed to go unpunished by the ref.
at first he looked winded, but then he shook it off and just kept running back at them. he ran back to cover the left wing and even made a good clearance from our goal area.
a great game for the lad.
