With a question mark over Sturridge's fitness and Sterling as our only other pacy, skillful striking option, I feel bringing in Origi is a must this window. Origi might not bag in the goals immediately but his skill set would certainly help.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI'm waiting for him to make a run similar to Sterling today. We have some silky smooth close control ****ers in our team!
Sturridge
Origi
Sterling
Markovic
Lallana
Coutinho

And dat Markovic. Who would have thought he'd make such an awesome wingback?I wear my heart on my profile name.

Worth a bump.......
Very disjointed today, which is fair enough.....can't be brilliant every match etc.
But what wasn't acceptable was that apparent 'flinch', when Downing threw a shape at him in that run-in by the corner flag in the first half. Will need to watch it again, but it did seem, for a moment, that Downing intimidated him.
That's Stewart. ****ing. Downing.

Totally agree. Today wasn't his best performance & I was willing that goal in for his confidence.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostFantastic talent who will be up and down, which has to be expected due to age and this being a new league etc.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

That's fair.Originally posted by RedRum View PostYeah dribbling combined with lightning pace. Not trying to have a dig at Rafa or anything but that was something we needed more of during his time in charge.
And I think Rafa would agree. It was something we always missed out wide.
And something Rafa never seemed to prioritise.
Garcia
Riera
Kuyt
Babel
Nunez
Zenden
Gonzales
El Zhar
Pennant
Garcia was very good, but below Coutinho and Sterling's level.
The rest, no comparison.
Rafa's teams obviously played very differently (with great success), and he had a very different Gerrard, but just one of either Coutinho or Sterling would have significantly improved things.

He also wanted Dani Alves and Aguero before they had their big moves, but wasn't supported.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostThat's fair.

True, but neither of those are wide midfield players.
Rafa never spent big on a winger / attacking midfield player.
I think he would argue that he never had the luxury of be able to splash out on those types. But that says it all they were luxury players and not critical to his system. Whereas they are critical to BRs.
