Agree with Cormack. We need to use the rest of the season to start playing these young lads in the positions they were bought for so we can see what we have. With any luck we'll avoid the Europa league next season too.

Rodgers is killing this lads career sticking him on as a wing back and subbing him at half time whenever he starts him. I thought he was a winger when we signed him. This right wing back position is destroying whoever plays there, the ultimate thankless task in Brendans ****fest formation.

Markovic is Rodgers' escaped goat. Hooked more often than not at half time, like others have said, he's been asked to do a job in an often thankless position and his confidence looks shot.

Compare his demeanour to Moreno and for some of his faults, he's tenacious and willing; The polar opposite of Markovic who appears meek and polite. The defensive aspect of Markovic's game is non-existent and I just think it's not in his nature.

I'd like to think we've seen elements of his game to show he has skill. His ability to spot a poss and play that pass is great and his touch is sublime. Markovic needs the opportunity to play further forward, with the safety net of a solid team behind him.

Markovic is not contributing from an alien position where he has to think of his defensive responsibilities before doing what comes naturally. I agree, he lacks a pair of balls, but he's only a kid.

If somebody could stir the passion in his belly and let him run free on either wing, we'd see a marked improvement.

He didn't look very good playing as a winger either though. And as a wingback, there's nothing to stop him looking like he might be a vague threat when he crosses the half way line.

In his first season he has looked like a player who can work well with other skilful midgets. More importantly he gives off a glimmer more hope that he knows where the goal is more than Sterling/Coutinho/Henderson.

Would love to see him in this formation for the next 6 games, to give him some experience there:
