Very little shining through with the lad so far. Can make the out of position argument, but even a wing back role allows a progressive player to show something beyond the halfway line (such as in Ibe's case), and he has really struggled to show anything that shows an underlying talent.
Obviously he must have something given his career before he joined us, and perhaps the lifestyle change is having more of an effect than we'd like, but ultimately, he needs to show a hell of a lot more.......no desire, meek as **** (which are worrying trends not associated with some of the brightest young talents regardless of their positions), and he can't even get sent off for something manly.

Big season for him next year, and there's a decent chance he'll be having to impress a new manager.

I thought he had some decent games at wingback before the sending off in Europe, it's not been his position but I thought he was ok there. He's still young and his performance levels would be up and down even playing in his best position. Like many have said I'm not sure what the plan for him and some of the other signings were.

I feel as though most of the players we brought in last summer haven't been given a chance, Can and Lovren are really the only ones who have had any kind of sustained run in the side. Markovic, Lallana, Lambert and even Balotelli haven't really been given those chances, Markovic I feel particularly sorry for because the others to some extent we have seen what they are capable of at other PL clubs, Markovic we still know almost nothing about.

He started the season like a rabbit caught in the headlights, spent a bit of time on the bench, got back in started showing signs of coming into his own, but he's shrunk back into in shell again.

He didn't come up with the £20m price tag and he's incredibly young, new culture etc, so needs to be cut some slack. But... for a team such as ours we can't afford to take a long term gamble on a player like Markovic at a considerable cost.

Milner & konoplyanka = Markovic ( plus we get the 10 or so mill to spend )
