I watched the game vs Blackburn and yes he too k his goal well but he was so passive. It’s like he’s afraid of his shadow - lost the ball cheaply a few times. I think he is missing that killer instinct for a Klopp side!

Yeah he comes across as a guy that has the skills and talent to be a good player but who is being held back by a lack of confidence/killer instinct/drive


What I did notice in his play against Blackburn though was how often he got into the box just before a pass was played.


There was a video floating about online about how Keita could save Sturridges career and in it were the passes that Keita made to Sturridge in attacking positions.

What caught the eye in that vid was how often Markovic was in the box waiting for a pass or for a ball to spill from a shot.

Is not something I ever noticed him doing a lot for us in games he played in in the past and am curious to see if he continues doing that in preseason.

Probably on par I’d say but I’m not sure that Klopp would have spent much time working his magic on him, so with Danny most likely leaving I’d keep him

He's been here for 4 years and it's been clear we don't think he'should good enough and have been trying to get rid for the last couple of years. I don't see one goal or decent performance in preseason changing that.

But I don't think saving cost and keeping substandard players in the first team squad is really our current strategy. If there was evidence of klopp rating him (as with Moreno) then it may be realistic but there really doesn't seem to be.

I’d go along with that if he shows something in the next few matches. He did ok against Blackburn & I’m prepared to see how he goes in the next few against better opposition.

If we want another winger, we could keep Ojo or Kent rather than sending them out on loan. Or we could have kept Wilson...

Ojo & Kent aren’t really that good & Wilson needs regular game time to keep improving surely.
