    Dejan Lovren seals Liverpool transfer

Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

The 25-year-old Croatian international today put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Reds after completing his medical.

Lovren becomes Brendan Rodgers' fifth signing of the summer and the third arrival from St Mary's, following the capture of striker Rickie Lambert and midfielder Adam Lallana.

Upon finalising his Anfield move, the centre-back told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's a dream come true. I'm happy and glad to be here. I'm proud and can't wait to start. I know we have millions and millions of supporters - Liverpool is more than a club.

"After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: 'One day I hope I'll be able to play here for Liverpool'. The fans will know from the first minute that I'm a player that will give 100 per cent on the pitch."

Would never have picked him as our top CB target but they know a lot more about him than I do. Looking forward to seeing him in action.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The boss wants him therefore I want him despite not seeing much if him. Welcome.

So our two most expensive centre backs (the glove and the new boy) only just cost more together than united paid for ferdinand

Got a good feeling about this signing. Him and Sakho are going to be a wall for us hopefully.

                good stuff. proper beef
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I think Lovren is a very good centre back. We'll be more solid from now on.

Welcome. You're overpriced but so is everyone this summer so what can you do. Hope you are playing alongside Sakho in the meanest defence in the league this season.

He'll bring a badly needed voice to our defence, I thought our communication between players at the back was poor last season.

I like Lovren, think he will be a very good signing for us. We need a commanding CB, and I believe he will provide some leadership to the back four and give more stability.

Welcome and hope he works well with Sakho - both speak French at the very least

Just pointing out that people say lovren and sakho costnalot well how many years ago did they buy Ferdinand? Look at transfer inflation over that period and the two to get her cost why 35m and Ferdinand cost 32.5 all those years ago

Wouldn't ever have thought we'd go for him but he'll be a starter & hopefully he can turn into a top defender.
