One of few Saints players I really would have liked to see us sign but he is Spurs bound.
so under rated, with a better club he'll get the plaudits he deserves.

I still think Mignolet out and a better suited keeper in would be a big help but I also don't want us to make to many changes to the team/squad so maybe that can be left for a later season. A sweeper keeper would seem to be more appropriate for the way we play though.
The problem with Flannagan is that he offers much less going forward than Enrique - I'd definitely prefer Enrique against defensive teams we might struggle to break down.

          Really?

Flanagan's ball retention is far superior and for me that's more important when attacking. Enrique also has very few goals and assists from FB since he came to England too, although he did start off last season pretty well.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not ideal then, we only have the Dortmund game before we play Southampton in England.

Hmm, maybe Flanagan's possession stats are better as he offered very little in the final third where things tend to get more risky? I remember on a good few occasions Enrique putting in excellent balls for our forwards. He quite often followed the ball into the box, making himself available for a one/two with Suarez etc.

For me, Enrique's biggest problem is when he thinks he's going to get done for pace and just tries to block the attacker with his backside - it usually ends up with him stumbling backwards and off-balance leaving the attacker free to race toward our goal/byline

Yes, but for every excellent ball, there are 15 wasted balls (mostly long balls from deep under little pressure). I like Enrique, hope he stays for another year, but his biggest problem us wasting possession.

It's comical, but quite an effective form of defending for him. I would argue it's successful more often than not, despite looking absolutely ridiculous at times.

                      Flanagan > Enrique

However, I want us to sign a better quality left back before the start of the season.

                                Bargain.

Two lovely feet. Better in the air than I expected.
