He didn't. He had a good half a season then tailed off badly.

He was just good for the first quarter of the season.

        He's still on target then.
        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Every time I saw him he played well. Now he's utter ****. Let's do a quick run through to see how this works:

            Lovren: ****
            Mignolet: ****
            Skrtel: ****
            Moreno: now ****
            Gerrard: now ****
            Henderson: this season ****
            Balotelli: ****
            Markovic: ****
            Lambert: ****
            Allen: ****
            Borini: ****
Sakho: who knows, he's either brilliant or ****

that's just a few. Are all these players ****? You might think so, I don't, but even then they are better than that Newcastle team.

I think we can't make the system work with the players at the moment. That's Rodgers' job. He got us to second last year so he deserves masses of credit (and at least 4 years in the job, same as I said about Benitez), but a constant rotating door policy with players ducks the issue. In my opinion.

I don't think they are all ****. Not a fan of Balotelli, I think Mig and Lovren and woeful. Other than that its a mix of performing poorly, being average and being young and deserving time. No question of Rodgers not deserving time either but there needs to be signs of improvement and quick cos so far, a quarter of the way through the season we've not show any at all.

Balotelli has scored goals throughout his career (although there is a whole other question with him...), I think Lovren is a decent player. Sadly, I've given up on Mignolet. I think that if we just concentrate on our transfer policy here we're doomed to make the same mistakes over and over. I'm beginning to think Rodgers' over-complicates his style of play. When it works it's a charm but if it doesn't allow for changes of personnel and opposition easily then it's limited.

Not sure what he did wrong today? Got beat for pace a couple of times by faster players, but that's when he ended up on the flank against Obertan & Ameobi and had no support. I think he's been better as the seasons gone on.
                    Forwards.......

Constantly caught out of position today Danny. We were lucky Newcastle weren't good either today.

that is what was frustrating yesterday....newcastle were ****e as well. Their fans at the end with the 'Pardew back from the dead' sign were a joke - this game was a definate case of the less **** team won.....

We are so ****in easy to play against......

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

His lack of pace is a major worry. If his positioning was spot on it wouldn't matter, but it's terrible. I dread any ball played into the channels or behind the CBs as I know virtually any player in the league will be able to outpace him with ease.

i think this is the main reason both lovren and skrtel want to come for the early interception.
if the ball is free and its not an out and out sprint then they will come for it. its probably easier to run the direction you are facing than have to waste time turning and trying to then catch up with a jinky little winger who is blitzing past you.
trouble is, they are being suckered by clever players. they show them the ball, wait for them to step out and then knock it past them or play a 1-2.

the initial interception needs to be done by the DM so that its easier for the CB's to step out and pick up the knock on or the loose ball.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

It's actually got to a point now, for me, that it's not about how good the defender is but how well they can play the ball out of defence. If we're going to persist with this passing it around at the back, then at least play a defender who's comfortable doing it ffs

Lovren and Skrtel are better defenders than they are passers.
