It's not Ian Ayre's job to judge talent, he just negotiates for who he's told to get.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostTell you what Henry must be ****ing livid with the incompetence at the club's transfer dealings. Its not just Rodgers but also Ian Ayre and the rest of this transfer committee who couldn't spot talent if it teabagged the lot of them..

Well whatever way we are scouting/signing players it isn't working because over the last few years we have sign a lot of ****e for crazy money and not just under Rodgers but recently it has got worse and worse. Someone needs to have the balls to say that this player isn't good enough or won't fit into the system or we shouldn't go above x price.Originally posted by G View PostYeah Rodgers said he wants him, they all agreed. All culpable but Rodgers was the one who put him on the table imo, like Allen and Borini. In other cases he's been given a list of players he didn't want and asked to pick one. So says James Pearce anyway. They all want shooting cos no matter who picks the player we sign they turn out ****e. People go on about this summer but last summer was just as bad.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I agree to certain extent we have signed a lot of **** in that time, the other thing I thought that going back to the Evans era we've been buying players that have often been good players but we haven't really known what to do with them, we have signed a lot of players that have been 'off the front man', 'in the hole' type players and wanted play them as wingers which often hasn't worked out. I don't think we know how we want to play, our most effective systems have been stumbled upon rather than designed (the 4-2-3-1 under Rafa and the system that worked last season) as a result I genuinely don't think we look at how a player fits into how we want to play before signing them, Balotelli is a classic example for me he's a decent player but in no way does he fit into how we played last year, and we haven't played to his strengths so what's the point?Originally posted by G View PostYep, it's been the same since 1990 bar a handful of gems. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

In terms of players in position and playing to their strengths, he's a CB FFS!?
