We needed a top quality defender with leadership qualities and this is what we ended up with for 20 mill??? This mistake alone is worth getting the sack for....

He was never a £20m defender that was obvious from before we signed him, I could tell he wasn't going to be good enough from within the first couple of games, I had hoped he would grow into the role but that never happened he looks way out of his depth. For me he's just not good enough and it doesn't look like he'll improve. This isn't his fault the problem for me is that there are people at the club who thought spending £20m on him was a good idea which is crazy. I worry that if we try to replace him we'll end up doing the same thing. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No he's not. He's ****. Totally ****ing ****. A total ****ing disaster and a constant **** up waiting to happen. It's totally beyond belief that we've not only found someone even worse but that we saw fit to pay £20 million for him. We could have given the money to a kiddies hospital and our defence would have probably still been better off.Originally posted by danperkins View PostSkrtel is ok but he's a hell of alot better than Lovren. Skrtel's problem is that he's brainless, Lovren's problem is that he just ****ing ****
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

That jumping for the same ball malarkey has happened a few times, with Sakho too. Sakho got the blame last time but the common denominator is Lovren. A truly awful centre half. Couldn't believe we wanted him at all let alone for 20m and this one is all on Rodgers.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostI knew when he scuffed that clearance, Man Utd would score the third.
For the second (offside goal), Lovren and Skrtel are so deep, and once again, neither are capable of communicating with each other. Remember at West Ham away, when they both went for the same ball in the air and knocked each other out?

How much of the signing is down to Rodgers and how much is the transfer committee and the scouting system?Originally posted by G View PostThat jumping for the same ball malarkey has happened a few times, with Sakho too. I think this was one Rodgers pushed for himself. The ones he doesn't want he barely talks about, he's creamed himself publicly over this fella quite a few times before he became so bad he had to shut up.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostHow much of the signing is down to Rodgers and how much is the transfer committee and the scouting system?

He is appalling, as someone else has mentioned he's diabolical.Originally posted by danperkins View PostAppalling signing.. one of the worst of ever at LFC considering the amount of game time he's had and the amount of mistakes he makes in every single game. He has cost us so many goals this season with his individual mistakes, bad positioning & defensive lapses... plus he puts the ****s up everyone around him.
****ing what a waste of 20 mill, that is a **** load of money to waste on who is turning out to be a shocking footballer.

Surely the way it works in this situation is Rodgers tells the scout he likes the look of a player (i.e. Lovren) and the scouting team go and watch him for a few games compile a report and then Rodgers and the transfer committee decide if he is good enough. Surely if the scouts come back and say that he's **** we shouldn't go near him. I don't know what the scouting team was doing because I never watched Southampton last season and thought he looked like the answer to our problems / a stand out player / someone you would spend £20m on. A lot of the players we sign look as though we have never watched them play. I just find the situation of a lot of our transfers in the summer frustrating and baffling.Originally posted by G View PostI think this was one Rodgers pushed for himself.
