I think there's something there with Martial, he's just wasted on the wings and doesn't have any quality around him. He's only just turned 20, so there's plenty of time for him to improve.

Cheers for posting that video. He made alot of interceptions vs Spurs, his clearances were a bit erratic but I suppose it's get it out of dodge. He has improved under Klopp no doubts, I'm still not convinced by him at all yet but credit where it is due for his improvement... to be fair though it couldn't have got much worse.

He done well vs Kane, who is a tough striker to handle but he did sell himself for the goal. Much like our other CB's, he is a bit headless and commits himself to easy on times. Let's hope Matip is amazing as it's pot luck these days finding the right CB combination. Personally I'd like to see us get another quality CB in along with Matip. Matip can play DM which is an option.

I'm not getting as carried away with is performances as some, as it's about ****ing time he improved.

Was good again, no surprise Klopp was hailing him in the media after. So refreshing to have a right sided CB who doesn't drag the whole team down with his ineptitude. Hopefully Klopp has learnt that lesson after Southampton!

I think we need a complete new CB partnership, maybe Matip + one. Lovren was caught for the goal (although most CBs probably would be) but he still has that madness in him to charge out and miss a ball - we nearly got caught right at the end when he did sth similar.

As you say fair play to him but he can be back-up to the new partnership until Super Joe comes in and becomes the new Alan Hansen.....

That's my issue. I'm not sure if Lovren is playing well or if years of watching Marty ****house being generally useless has lowered my expectations as to what a generally good defensive appearence looks like.
