Yep, joke of a decision. When we played Chelsea Hazard barged Phil over in the area far, far worse than that and unsurprisingly we got **** all. Decisions against us right now are the worst we've seen since the days where you could attempt to break Suarez legs and it wouldn't even be a foul.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's clearly thrown himself to the ground. It's supposed to be a contact sport ffs.

agree its a blatant dive.Originally posted by labourRed View PostIt's a blatant a dive as you'll see. In an ideal world you'd see retrospective action for that but it's not and you won't because refs need to be backed at all costs.
the lad slightly alters the angle of his run and as lovren comes close to him he leans back into lovren to make the contact. the contact is not initiated by lovren. the ref was miles behind the play and had the angle from the back of the two of them. lovrens arm does go across the back of the player but only after the contact is made as the player falls onto lovren, but what the ref sees is contact, lovrens arm, then the ****house going to ground.
some might say it was good play by 'drawing the foul' which is another way of saying he has blagged the ref and got away with it.
retrospective punishment should apply all over the pitch and for ALL incidents.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

From that angle it looks a clear dive, remember that the ref sees it from the back, and Lovren's hand is on his back (you can just see it coming off as he goes down in that video). I haven't seen a video from that angle but having seen still pics of Lovren's hand and the way he goes down I can imagine why the ref might give it. It would be good to see from that angle...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You have to remember it's instinct to put your hands up to protect yourself but as i said earlier i don't think Lovren even needed to be touch tight. End of the day we're hyper analysing and Lovren can be somewhat exonerated on this occasion.
He's not good enough and isn't smart enough in situations but he's been dealt a harsh card here.

I don't think that many people on here will disagree that it was a soft penalty. But if we are to improve our game defensively the the coaching staff should be looking at these types of incidents in fine detail. Saying that the referee got it wrong and there is nothing that we can do (other than moan about it) is the type of naiveity that I am talking about. The referee has seen something that makes him think it was a pen presumably Lovren's hand to the back. The coaching staff should be making players aware of these minor things and tring of coach them out of our game therefore lessening the likelihood of similar things happening in future. It may be nit picking but that is what you need to do to become a top player and a top side. If you can getake I'd of these types of mistakes you probably save yourself somewhere between 5 and 10 points a season. Lads watch the clip from the back, which would have been the view of the ref... it looks a lot worse than clip above. 100% puts hand on him, regardless if Lewin plays for it you are asking for trouble and asking for the ref to make a decision when you do that. Wish I could post up the other angle as it is much more conclusive.

I don't disagree - Lovren needs to be replaced as does arguably Mignolet and he did **** all wrong yesterday.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI don't think that many people on here will disagree that it was a soft penalty. If that was shoulder to shoulder it wouldn't have been a penOriginally posted by Buzzo View PostWatch the above clip and say that.
Never a pen.
Because contact is with Lovrens hands and his hands are up for me it's a pen
A soft one but it's a penBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He's moved away from the ball and conned the ref. I can't wait until retrospective punishments are metered out for this sort of ****Originally posted by Buzzo View PostThats the first time I've seen it since the game.
That's a shocking decision. Clear dive, at the time I thought he'd won it well, but that is too forgiving. He has cheated. The raised hands is a total non issue.
Thats two absolutely shocking pens we've had given against us in two weeks.
