    He played well against Bournemouth.

    He played well against Burnley.

Is there some Croat Irish thing I’m not aware of
Noooooooo - he was v poor first half vs United and shocking in the build up to Alisson’s mistake. Jogged beside the guy who crossed the ball instead of trying hard to cut it out.

Nothing against the Croats - went to see IRL play them in the Euros and they thumped us - have great time for them and drank plenty with their fans. Love most of their players.

I read the full interview (my agenda insists of course I did ) and it has been taken out of context but why Dejan, why always you shooting your mouth off.

Some with a knowledge base that exceeds my own would go further:

Klopp, who saw his side draw 0-0 with Bury in their latest warm-up game, offered a wry smile when reminded of Lovren’s remarks.

“It would be better if someone else said that and not Dejan, but actually he is right,” said Klopp.

“The only problem is no-one actually thinks about it but if you go into the detail it is not a big surprise. Croatia do not have world class right-back and left-back, but they do not concede. In the middle of the park Rakitic and Modric are offensive, so somebody must fix all that and he is a big part of it.

“He was with us in the Champions League final, and two years ago in the Europa League final. Okay, we did not win that but that means only 11 players were better than us, and only two centre-halves. I did not see two better centre-halves in the Champions League (final) – only that they were more ruthless.

“He has played a really good World Cup but to do it consistency is the main thing. Dejan and I will be working together for a long time. I have the opportunity to help him and next time, maybe I will say it.”

You hardly expect him to slander him - we have seen Klopp publically back players and bin them when the time has come. Looks at Migs and Karius.

I expect him to be sold this summer

Poor? Really?they only had six shots all game. Rashford and Lukaku barely had a kick.

He could do slightly better on the goal but the cross was terrible.

Well have to agree to disagree

I reckon the Salah factor also means he stays.

Gomez is ahead of him but we have 4 incredibly strong options at centre back.

I think Klopp has also said similar about Mig, Karius and Moreno aswell in the past.

He bought Alisson, sold Karius & now Mig is warming the bench. Bought Robertson and as soon as he was ready, Moreno was dropped and is now used as sparingly as possible. Gomez also has become number one choice beside VVD. I never read into public comments by any manager trying to big up or come to the defence of his players. That's just a good manager publicly backing up his players and taking the pressure off them, his actions have shown what exactly he really thinks

Backing is one thing, but I don’t think Klopp is on the record as saying Mignolet, Karius it Moreno are World Class.

I’m sure you guys are right tho :rolleyes.

We’d be mad to sell him. Who do we get in that is better as defensive cover?

Anyway, I need to get in with real world stuff now.

                      This escalated quickly.

I think a few need to have a smoke and chill if that's your thing.

This is a forum with very few posters, contrasting views will be inevitable and because of the limited posters these days the views standout more than in years gone by.

We all support Liverpool but thankfully we all have differing views. Otherwise life would be predictable and boring. Why do so many people these days get offended by things that don't even directly affect them. Lovren will lose no sleep because I may dislike him and may think he's a liability. Of course I may rate him and just be posting to get a reaction. It's the internet.

Would rather Lovren didn't say these things but don't think he's going to change. It's also quite funny

Last season, Lovren played really well alongside VvD. However, he's very lucky to be back in the team. Gomez and Matip appeared to be 2nd and 3rd choice CBs before injuries.
                        Another MASSIVE game

I love the way Klopp does that as we know behind closed doors he can be ruthless. I don' t think any of the others have a history of making or responding to comments like Dejan does.

I never said sell him, i'm fine wit him being back up. When he has a good game I'll call it, when he has a bad game likewise... no big deal like. He made a mistake, i just reiterated what others had pointed out and I get the torrent as per usual

Bob's right this was unnecessarily escalated. At least our debate was cordial

                            - I have a similar opinion Dan - Lallana has form there also but I don’t rate either so I can’t be objective.

Right my lunch spent moaning about Dejan....gotta love the internet

                              Just to finish

I think we also need to appreciate how many titles the Darren Fletchers, We Browns, John O’Sheas, the Fabian Adelphi’s of this world have won.

You can’t have VVD quality defenders as back up.

Lovren offers us strength and depth. Something we have never previously had.

In short, Everyone who disagrees with me is wrong, and therefor a cunt. And those who agree clearly shall be experiencing more favourable Christmases.

If people get so offended by football comments on the internet, can you imagine their outrage in real life about important stuff
