Nah I've slept on it now.......he is a

Can't defend and one goal v Newcastle isn't going to change that. He isn't a good enough footballer for us.

He's an idiot/dope/cunt/prick/insert insult here for giving that stupid interview where he stated that we could go the season undefeated. That was a stupid cunt thing to do. And put the team under more pressure.

And I don’t think the interview had anything to do with last night.

He was our weak link both in possession and positionally, nicely exploited by an excellent team playing at home.

He’s not good enough to be our first choice centre half which I don’t think he is anyway. But given our injuries there’s not a lot we can do about it.

How is calling anyone at the club a cunt acceptable?

Best supporters in the world, right?

Re the interview before this game, most people didn't see anything wrong with what we said. But you really think that had any bearing on any result? Of course it didn't.

My own thoughts on last night...

He didn't have his best game. True enough.

To blame him for the first goal is harsh. Aguero cheated his way into the position he scored from, and it was an absolute world class goal. It had to be.

I've seen one or two blaming Lovren for the second goal too. Can't see it myself, but we're in scapegoat territory so anything goes.

Obviously a mistake late on to miscontrol the ball that led to a chance.

We've got the best defender on the planet in VVD. There is no other best. To expect everyone else to be the same standard isn't realistic, no matter who they are. But the criticism is OTT and some of you are like a colied spring when it comes to waiting for any mistakes from certain players (and the list is quite long). That is pretty sad.

I agree mostly, this is City on their home ground, Aguero is probably the best finisher around and it was a rocket, and Sane's finish was fantastic as well.

But I find it annoying when he spouts off this ****, he constantly does, and to me it signals him becoming complacent.

Leaving the goals aside, I thought this match highlighted his lack of pace and technical abilities, him and Hendo had problems passing the ball from the back, if we had Gomez/Matip and Fabinho, I think we could have handled their pressing better.
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He was definitely at fault (others were too) for the first goal. He looks half-asleep, Aguero just ghosts in front of him and he doesn't react quick enough. Van Dijk would have been alive to that and blocked the shot easily. So would most other top defenders

I thought in general last night he looked panicked. The occasion got to him more than most.

He's a decent defender. He'd get into most Premier League teams. He's just not quite good enough to ever be relied on as a starter for us IMO.

he seemed to struggle physically with aguero too

Ghost is a great way to put it. He'd been playing dead from the previous challenge moments before

Aguero is a winner. He sniffed out the opportunity and didn't even have to work that hard to get past Dejan. He was a foot in front of him before dopey Dejan woke up. His stupid ****in face turning around watching the ball smash into the net. The whole "whaaaat happened?" ****in look on him.

People who have been all "he's played great in 2018" - that is only because we expect a **** up out of him once every other game. It was a surprise that this didn't happen.

Where we are now though, is he good enough? No. Is he going to get better? No. So we need to get rid of him and either get a better player in or a player that is going to get better. That's what we need to do. Simple.

He wouldn't get into any of our rivals teams.

He wouldn't get into ours, he's 3rd or fourth choice. Is he worse than the 3rd or 4th CB options of other sides in the league, probably not.
