How many games during this run did Moreno contribute to? When Matip got injured and Gomez was out of form at the start of the season, did the team struggle with Lovren at the back? A run that included games against City, Leicester and qualification to last 16 of the Champions league.

Further, what does "doesn’t mean he’s up to the standard that we need" actually mean? What standard do we need at the moment and who defines what this standard is? We are Champions of the World, Europe and soon to be England and he has demonstrably played a part in this. As a third or fourth choice centreback, I would argue that you would struggle to find a player of higher quality to replace him in that role. The best manager in the world has deemed he is of appropiate standard for this team based on first-hand knowledge of his training and performances. I would deem this a fairer reflection of his true standard.

The nonsense was your arbitrarily chosen player who barely featured in the past two years to poorly fit your argument.

Lovren played 8 League games and 3 CL and didn’t have a bad game earlier in the season.

As a 4 we can’t get better than the guys we have. Obviously they didn’t play well at the weekend, but that was a lot of guys coming back from injury at the same time.

Gomez was ****e when he came into the team v Salzburg earlier in the season and got dropped (for Lovren) after. But haters gotta hate. You need rhythm to find form.

Thats why the brazilian players are so good. We need to train with samba drums.

I'm surprised he hasn't spouted any crap since he's been back, he's pretty quiet when he's injured

I didn't compare him to Moreno mate - just said that it's nonsense to argue that he's good BECAUSE he was in the squad - and gave the extreme example of Moreno, who was in the squad, but not very good (by our recent high standards)

I went on to say that I think Lovren has been good(ish) for us, but that as we have gotten better he has slipped down the pecking order and now is the weakest link, in his position. I even gave him the compliment that he would start for 16/17 PL teams.

Hmmm I'm not sure about what your getting at, talking about who defines standards etc, sounds philosophical, but Lovren is paid 100k a week - the same as Mane and Fabinho. I would say his contribution (these days) is not comparable to the standard of these guys. Gomez is 1st choice alongside vvd and is paid 28k a week.

In the end of the day, his contract ends next year, so we have 3 options:

            a) Sell him in the summer for 20-30m

            b) extend his contract for another few years, at 100k+ per week.

            c) let his contract run out, as 4th choice centre back and then have him leave for free.

Which option do you think makes most sense?

see him on skysports.com - saying that he wants LFC to be like Peps Barca and win 20 trophies in the next 4 years or so......

The guy does my head in. Like the time last year where he said he thought we'd go unbeaten.

                Please get rid!!!

I think you guys are just looking for a reason to hate.

Nah, there is definitely something to it.

I seen him say hello to a photographer before the United game and knew we'd be in for a tough afternoon. Thankfully we held on for a draw.

Saying Klopp is like a father figure is beyond the pale though.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Everyone at the club has been saying week in, week out that we take it one game at a time, nothing is won yet, etc etc....

Everyone except that ****in dope. For him he’s talking bout us dominating the next few years.. he should be doing interviews bout how he’s working hard to try get in the team/extend his contract etc...

Salah/Mane could be excused for having such arrogance, but not bench warmers ffs.. I know it’s a squad game and everyone plays their part and all that, but this joker needs a reality check.

Part of this is on the club too- how the **** is he not banned from talking to the press is beyond me. Someone needs to tell him that the main reason we are the best team in the world right now is cos we upgraded his position massively, and that he really shouldn’t think so highly of himself..

even I think that’s another myth we can dispel

Jeez, people (Lovren) can't say anything these days before the PC (Press Conference) Brigade jump all over them.

Don’t have a problem with him saying Klopp is a father figure, even though think he sounds like a Nancy saying it...

I think most peoples problem is what he’s saying about we want to win 20 trophies in 4 years... it sounds just like last year when he said we can go the full season unbeaten (a few days before we were beat). Both times he’s the only one in the squad saying these kind of things.

We as fans say these things, I’m sure the players talk about it in private... but if all the other players and manager are avoiding the media bait every week bout the title already being won, why does Lovren go and say we’re also gonna win 19 other trophies in the next 4 years!!!
