My worry is how comfortable Villa were and how little we trouble them in behind, we'll see plenty more of this while Sturridge is out I'm afraid. Genuinely worried about top 4 this season.

I'm more concerned about the fact that despite it being a problem for over a year we still seem oblivious on how to defend set pieces.

They were better than us before they scored though.

Markovic isn't good enough, and neither is Balotelli. Coutinho is still in an inconsistent phase and Lallana should have been sat behind a front two, although he did his best. And we bring on substandard subs and hope Sterling can change the game. Desperate stuff really.We can and will play a lot better than that, but we have too little up front to challenge for the title imo.

I'm pretty amazed that you see fit to dismiss a player after he has barely played 90 minutes for us (Markovic) and as for Balotelli not being good enough...

I scored if it's any consolation. One of the Chavvy mums bought in a bag of those fairground toys, you know, the ones that flash colours like mad. Noisy as well. One of the kids had a prickly ball thing that from 75 minutes on was winding me to ****. I gave it back a couple times after nearly sending my pint flying. Just as the whistle went the ball came my way and I ****ing smashed it full blast left footed, it caught a pint plum and sent the contents over one of the girls, the glass hit one of the blokes in the chin and broke. The ball then went on to hit another toy out of the girls hand. We had tears. We had outrage. The kid who's ball it was said good shot! Result. I left quickly. Half the pub cheered so I wasn't being an isolated misrerabe ****. Time and place.

We were rubbish today. It's a worry. That first goal ****ed us.

Yet our centre backs were playing most of the game within 5yds of the half way line. Not about depth imo, more about speed of attack and penetration

We were awful. No invention. Pretty annoyed tbh, Rodgers got that all wrong IMO.

We've bought pretty well in defense, we've spent poorly elsewhere. Lallana is the only one who might be quality, but he cost an arm and a leg.

I've seen him before today and he has little end product.

And Balotelli is not a top class striker, I'm not going to change my opinion just because he's signed for us.
