Knew we should have tried to sign Costa. Hopefully balotelli can pick it up a bit. He just sems so isolated, no link play.

Not sure we can be effective if we are not scoring, as we certainly cant defend. I dont remeber a shot on target. Not one player was really effective, until sterling came on and coutinho moved up.

Just got to hope brendan can pick apart where it went wrong.

My worry is how comfortable Villa were and how little we trouble them in behind, we'll see plenty more of this while Sturridge is out I'm afraid. Genuinely worried about top 4 this season.

Markovic looks like he doesn't want to make a mistake and lose the ball. He needs to take players on and stop playing safe. We haven't brought him in to play safe. It'll take time for him to settle down and only then can he be judged.
