I don't believe it was ever our intention to make such wholesale changes to the team, but it's been forced upon us through injuries

There was just too much emphasis on the new attacking spear head today. Last season our attacking trident was Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling. You can't start with none of them and expect the same results so early in the season. Sterling should have started and been rested once Sturridge was back - and vice versa while you integrate a new attack. Thats my opinion, and I am quite pleased how well I am typing considering how hammered out of my head I am.

Absolutely. Too many new players on the field at the same time today.

First half no intensity, extremely slow and awful passing. Very disjointed.

Pressed a lot better the second half but I never felt we were going to score.

Brendan has a lot of work to do integrating all these new players and for this game I think he changed too much too fast.

Was bored senseless by that. Fair play to Lambert, who I like, and Villa, who I ****in detest. Senderos did exactly what he should have done and got away with it. Fair play to Balotelli for not reacting. I hope Gerrard tried to do the same to Agbonlahor. If the fat cunt's job was to manmark SG, then he should have gotten a punch in the ribs and a stamp on the ankle in the first two minutes to make him back the **** off. Despite all our skill and speed and beautiful football, we need to generally be more horrible. Villa did all the right things today and wee were ****e. We'll play way better and win games but we're vulnerable.

And to tell the truth I reckon that Rodgers has an Achilles heel when it comes to coaching a defence. It remains to be seen how much this will hold us back.

Thought Henderson and Gerrard were poor today, and both of those are vital to the tempo we play at. First time in my life I've wanted to see Gerrard get hooked, but today was that day. Personally I'd have gone with Lambert up top today alongside Ballotelli to give the lad some support - Markovic will get better and better, as crap as he was today always wanted the ball, never went missing and a few times tried to spark something.
