Liverpool vs. Swansea Build up thread

Liverpool vs. Swansea, tomorrow at 20:00.

I had to start this because I dreamt Gerrard would be dropped for this one. That can point towards two things, a) I'm too hooked on Liverpool and the subject of Gerrard, b) I'm a psychic.

I'm leaning towards the former.

Gerrard played surprisingly well for a third game on the trot against Hull. But yes, he needs resting if we're to stand any chance with Newcastle's younger legs in midfield.

Is Sakho fit again? I'd be tempted to keep Skrtel/Lovren to see if they can build up an understanding. Hull wasn't a challenge but Swansea and Bony might be. Coutinho has to start this game surely? Or is he still injured?

Think Balotelli will play. He needs to score, giving him games will do that. Its a nothing game that I dont think we will go all out for. So its worth the risk.

Would like to see Mario and Lambo given a go here with a view to the weekend.

Borini money could come in really useful in January too so I'd leave him out again and give him a firm "not welcome here" until he gets the message.

I think Rossiter deserves to start again personally. I'd also start another of the youngsters too, not sure who else deserves it though as I rarely watch reserves/youth games.

Well, if Coutinho and Henderson are carrying knocks I'd rather leave them out altoghether and since Gerrard is out as well the midfield three almost pick themselves.

I also want to rest Sterling and I'd rather not play Balotelli either, maybe Lambert should start this one but I'd also like to see Borini given a chance in a team with movement.

I reckon the centre backs are no worse than clowns that usually start so there.

No that's what I meant, is there a reason for picking that team? If Coutinho, Henderson and Gerrard aren't fit then yep, absolutely picks itself. Though I'd have Lallana in place of Lucas with Can playing the DM role personally

Think it's too early to give up on Balotelli, he needs game to continue his (sloooooooooooow) improvement

Mario and Lambert on the pitch at the same time will have as much movement as a no movement thing. If we are going to play 2 up top, Borini should start, at least the defenders will actually have to move even if there is little danger from either.

Rather start Lambert with a reserve striker to do his running and movement.
