ecause teams can commit more men forward knowing we are not a threat to them defensively. With an outlet at the top of the line teams have to hold back a little. When they do that the Midfield has a little more space and the knock on effect is that the defence do tooFootball without Origi is nothing

Played the same today as we have all season. A few improvements maybe, but the lack of confidence is obvious. The shame is most the players are going onto that pitch knowing they're going to have to try and scrape anything they can get. It's tragic.
The lack of balance in our side is horrific. It is not Brendan Rodgers job to go scouting for players, that much has been made obvious. He doesn't scout them others do. As far as I know he says the position he wants. They bring a list of players back we can get, and they sit down between themselves and pick one.
Looking at our signings this season there is a fair few that would sound like good signings. Ones that would fit into last seasons team. I can't be bothered to argue the case with people who will totally disagree on everything so don't expect a reply if you're going to spout ****e back. But what I think we can all agree on is that Luis Suarez was not adequately replaced.
We finished the game with Lambert & Borini up top. Rubbish, they are mid table players playing for a side that was fighting for the title. One of them is okay as a reserve 4th choice. I'm guessing that was Lamberts role. But we needed more than Mario. He is clearly not capable as a lone target man. He may have all the attributes, but he lacks the brain for it. I look at some players and they can play anywhere, Phillip Lahm springs to mind. Raheem Sterling shows great awareness. But Balotelli? Only ever looks useful playing with a partner.
Our issue is we have no one good enough to play with him. Borini is average, as is Lambert, whose even less mobile than Mario. We don't have a decent partnership. So we start playing one up top. But we don't have anyone good enough at playing alone. So suddenly we have MASSIVE problems. Because we lack cutting edge where it matters, the whole thing has fallen to pieces.
Rodgers will keep his job. Danny will dig us out of a whole if he stays fit. But we need to correct the single biggest mistake we made in the summer and that was not buying another top class forward. Even Vargas at QPR would have been better than nothing. I look at Vargas & Song, even the boy Valencia at West Ham, they would have been attainable and we've not made a move.
Problems at the back are there of course, they were last season. But the buck stops up top. If you can't score goals you will not win games. In all fairness we haven't conceded too many, we've just created nothing then made a complete cock up at the back. Moreno twice this season, Coutinho today, Loveren, Skrtel, Migs, Glen. They're all at it making mistakes at vital moments. IMO we look tighter at the back than last year, we just have no threat to push the opposition back.
First half today at the end, it was wave after wave. We couldn't get out. We had no link ups on the pitch and the lads at the back had to dally on ten ball and just give it away I'm the end. Glen Johnson case in point. Oscars slides in and is on the deck. Glen looks up. Waits. Waits. Waits. No movement and Oscar gets back at him. All stems from the ****e up top.
At the end of the day Rodgers should have more than 14 points after 11 games. He has been poor. But it's difficult for him and we have to recognise that even given talent to work with, he can create something special. Give him some average players, and maybe the expectation levels are killing him and the tea .Forwards.......

With the inclusion of Lovren and that first set piece goal I thought we'd be in for a torrid time with corners/freekicks. Specially as Costa decided to be fit again.
But as the game wore on I was more and more relaxed that we'd deal with anything they put in the box. Which is not a feeling we are accustomed to as we know. So that's a big positive. Really happy with the way Skrtel dealt with Costa, just enough to get him riled and gave him a good trodding on too.
Chelsea have beaten us with a God awful slip and God awful refereeing decisions. Karma decided not to take back what's her's just yet. Chelsea won't win the league if she's still waiting to ying out the yang. She bit us when it counted last season. One tit for another.

It's not rocket science people. We won't suddenly become world class, but we will be far better, especially as confidence comes back.Forwards.......

I'm not the bloody LFC manager! I'm not paid to make these decisions, I hadn't watched Mario since he left the EPL and based it on his time at City.... Thats so sadOriginally posted by kingfunk View PostYou were just as excited as the rest to see him coming.

We weren't creating enough so I brought on Allen and Lambert...Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostDaniel Taylor @DTguardian 4m4 minutes ago
Rodgers explains Coutinho substitution. "I didn't feel we were creating enough. The supporters are frustrated and I understand that."

FABIO BORINI.
Clearly not the issue with our team and also, clearly not good enough.
On his purchase, he was a young lad who Rodgers knew would work hard, he was an Italian international and he isn't the worst striker we've ever had. His valuation has also improved since we bought him, so how people can have a go at Rodgers over that, I don't know.
And let's not forget, Brendan agrees with those who say he ain't good enough. He tried to sell him remember.Forwards.......

We do have strikers though.....they are just ****e....Originally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostRandom thoughts:
I thought we quite played well overall tbh.
Without Sturridge we'll struggle to score goals against any side in Europe, it's what happens when you have no strikers.
Can has revitalized our midfield he reminds me of Yaya Toure and I thought Coutinho was magic in the first half.
In reality, we spent a **** load of money.....and have pretty much **** all to show for it. Worse than **** all actually - we have dangerous dejan lovren as our defensive marshal....
