Playing two up top when we don't have a decent partnership won't do anyone any favours either.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWe don't but you make the best out of what you have. Constantly playing a striker as a lone striker who cannot play up top on his own.. is doing nobody any favours.
If we were playing two up top and getting beat like we did against West Ham every week, people would be asking why he didn't make it tighter. No easy answers. Of course, that's why he gets paid the money he does and is manager of Liverpool. He needs to find answers when maybe there are no obvious ones. He hasn't done this, and so I get the criticism as for me he's failed to adapt.
But Rodgers is a bit of a one trick pony, but when he has the right players its a good trick. Key is to giving him the right players and I think it's a lesson learned with regards strikers. We could change manager, but I'd rather a manager with one good way of playing than one with a few average ways and no way of turning bronze to gold. Rodgers is our only hope of winning a title anytime soon IMO.Forwards.......

You're right. Sell the ****ing cunt. He's the ****test right back we have.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostWhat Rodgers should have said about the Coutinho substitution was I took him off because he was weak as piss and 100% to blame for the Costa goal.Football without Origi is nothing

He clearly wasn't 100% at fault though. A massive overstatementOriginally posted by Chazza View PostHe was at fault though.
Let his man get past far too easily.
Other things that could shoulder blame:
Johnson. Dawdling back and barely making it into shot by the time the ball is in the net.
Mig. Weak hands (very minimal blame to Mig on this one as terrible as he is/has been)
Moreno. Turned his back on it. Look how the Warrington lads defended last night. Threw themselves in front of everything. No fear.Football without Origi is nothing

Ffs sakho is injured.Originally posted by kubrickscube View PostI'm annoyed Johnson, Gerrard and Lovren waltzed back into the team replacing three players who performed much better in the week. Can't help think that must annoy the players too. is like to see Toure Sakho given a go.

We played 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1. With Gerrard off the front man or pushed furthest forward from the midfield
It bollocks to suggest we have played the diamond system in any game other than Spurs
We have switched to it in latter portions of games and looked better
Anyway how do we know none of the partnerships work. The only time that hes truly tried a partnership was v Spurs rest of the time its been 1 up top which DEFINITELY doesnt work
Sorry Brendan has to shoulder some responsibility for what is happeningBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I agree that we don't have great forwards to choose from but one up top does not work with Balotelli, Lambert or Borini. It's been tried over and over again. We have been toothless up top & so isolated. He is going to play Balotelli, just as it seems he going to play Johnson, Lovren & Gerrard as the DM. To me it makes sense to get another striker up there to give support to Balotelli & to give more options to the likes of Coutinho & Sterling. How many times have the midfield got the ball, look up andddddd there is nothing to aim for & no movement.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostPlaying two up top when we don't have a decent partnership won't do anyone any favours either.

I'm not a huge fan of Borini, average footballer but what he does give is movement & effort, something that Balotelli has never had and never will have. Balotelli looks a horrible player in our current system. I was never a fan of him but he is better than this. Two up top with the diamond IMO is by far our best system.
Rodgers IMO just doesn't know what to do with the players he has at his disposal. But picking the same losing formula time after time, clearly is not working.
