                  He was to intelligant for the players around him, too quick thinking for him and no wingers to whip the ball in. Dam shame it didnt work out

                    I thought that Wenger did it originally to give him a first team opportunity, much like he has with Walcott, always planning to move him inside when he became older/stronger/more experienced. Still what ever the truth he managed to buy him for Arsenal at a bargain price.
