This ****in passing it around between the back 4 is doing my head in. When better teams press us, we panic - like we do constantly in every defensive situation - and give it away. When ****e teams like Palace sit back, we do the exact same. We don't need to be pressed and harried in our own half because there is noone to link back to front in any sort of dynamic way. (I have hope that Can might.) I actually think that Gerrard, while not the cause of our problems, is a physical and psychological weight around our necks now. He's being accommodated for no good footballing reason.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

In fairness to Joe Allen, he really did try to link up play today but we're either tortuously slow in getting it to him or we break up play and give it to SG who dawdles around for no clear reason or Allen is not demanding the ball or he's not in a position to receive the ball.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

The biggest issues are what Carragher picked outOriginally posted by Maxiedge View PostTo pick out Allen after that game is laughable. We have so many other glaring issues. Skrtel is such a liability, it's beyond a joke now. Mignolet the same but we have no replacement.
We are regularly physically bullied in games and that happens all over the pitch
To me Allen is one of our weakest physical players
Skrtel and Lovren are all over the gaff, individually they are woeful but together they are a total cluster****
To me there are some players that shouldnt be near the starting 11, Johnson, Lovren, Allen, Borini. Gerrard I would also take out and give Lucas a go and see how it goes although I cant say I am massively convinced that it will make a significant differenceBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Yeah I'm sure Valdes or any other keeper would flourish here with Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson and Gerrard in front of them.Originally posted by G View PostAnd give Valdes whatever assurances he ****ing wants. His presence alone would lift the team.

I am increasingly worried that he won't turn it around. His team selections, substitutions are bizarre. He looks void of ideas and doesn't seem to be able to fix the problem. I also think he is stubborn which will be his downfall in the end. 12 games, 14 points and four losses (3 in the league) in a row is absolutely unacceptable.Originally posted by Lecter View PostIt looked at times first half we were playing 2 up top but second half he quickly reverted to 1 up top
People will no doubt think Allen played well but for me he's so neutral. Doesn't win enough possession, isn't physical enough, get shrugged off the ball easily, when he gets possession first thought is play it sideways or backwards
There is little or no pressure on the ball, we don't compete for second balls and defensively we are a shambles.
People talk about Gerrard being done but to me that could also apply to Lovren and Johnson who are anonymous week in week out
You can't afford to carry players and week in week out we carry 3 or 4
I am not convinced he's gonna turn this round. He drops players who should be playing and persists with those who shouldnt

Allen was good today. Not sure why he and Lallana got subbed off, I think Rodgers is purposely trying to get the sack.Originally posted by badpiggy View PostIn fairness to Joe Allen, he really did try to link up play today but we're either tortuously slow in getting it to him or we break up play and give it to SG who dawdles around for no clear reason or Allen is not demanding the ball or he's not in a position to receive the ball.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Some of it was down to them but imo Sterling and Henderson have dropped off in terms of pressing and creating and I dont think that has anything to do with Suarez and SturridgeOriginally posted by cream View PostWhich was mostly down to Suarez and Sturridge.
Glad we agree
The players pressed against Spurs without Suarez and they do it sporadically in some games but then they drop off and we go to ****Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
