I think our biggest failing right now is as a club, when there is so little patience and it's so hard to get working peace. If you don't have totalitarian rule excpetional amount of money you need time to build something, and we have been increasingly poor at that. There will be up's and down's on that road (Dortmund a good example) and it may take years (again Dortmund), but with time and continuity there is a chance of being competitive when not in the position of Chelsea/City.

It's frustrating as hell right now, but there is little use in just going straight at the throat of the manager and captain, that seems the prefered targets (forgot about Mignolet/Johnson/Balotelli ). In reality it's a team that needs to rebuild the confidence needed, and it's a team failure right now and not 1-2 persons, and when skipped out / benched it will all magically be better. It's not looking encouraging at the moment, but there is no reason to panick neither. Very few clubs have gained succes by firering managers mid season and in the middle of building something - quite to the contrary...

Imo the players at his disposal, we should still be in a shout for 4th, certainly a lot closer. But we aren't and he shows no signs of changing. Id make a change before its totally gone

I agree, but we are 5 points off. Hardly a lost cause at the moment is it.
        *Except Michael, who died.

          re: Darkon

Wow that is a really sensible level-headed post but, for me, it's gone beyond the point of no return unfortunately. That ****e-fest yesterday has been simmering all season and instead of steady signs of improvement, it seems to be getting worse. He just doesn't seem to be tackling the issues that are clear for all to see (even after a two week break).

I think it's pretty obvious that he won't turn this around, he's persisting too much with same culprits and it's bound to alienate others, like Sakho, Kolo, Moreno, Lucas, it must be infuriating for them seeing Johnson, Lovren and Gerrard untouchable - why are they here then?

It's a cause we are losing, we are moving further away every game and we are looking void of ideas and naive. I agree with Sarb, we need to change beore it's too late.

Really cant accept this 'changing managers mid-season rarely works' view. Is that a reason to keep a guy who isnt performing? Nope

Re. alex. I agree. Not gone yet. But will be if we continue the way we are. Can you see Brendan changing anything?

He has my support. However, we need to take at least 14 points from our next seven games (top 4 remains a priority). Anything less than 9 points is relegation form.

Agree with a lot of this and you would expect ups and downs yet with us they are often so extreme

I never expected us to win the league this season but I thought we would get 4th and I thought performance levels might be slightly off (but not as much as they are now)

BUT the whole thing has just dropped off a cliff and the worrying thing is Rodgers doesnt appear to be doing anything to change things

Players who are consistently **** get games ahead of those that have had the odd cameo and done well, players who have looked promising (Lallana, Can & Moreno) are inexplicably sidelined in favour of players who havent cut it at all by any stretch of the imagination

Its a real tough one at the minute I worry if we bullet him then we are once again entering a lottery, however I have little or no faith in him actually turning things round

Your avatar is really apt now.

We have a problem and instead of sticking our head into the sand we need to act. We'll probably give him the next two games and see.

Id bullet Ayre before Rodgers though. Then Committee and Rodgers after a new Chief Exec (someone like Dein) is in. Ayre shouldnt escape for overseeing such a shambles. Committee have no logic in players they for either

Dont have that problem often of people agreeing. Just heartbreaking stuff mate. To go from 2nd to this. We were asking for it with what we did in the Summer. Not since days of Hodgson have I seen us play with zero desire or passion. No longer poetry in motion but more going through the motions
