Agree with what you say here Sarb, it is common sense.

If we were looking to consolidate our status as title challengers, with £100m in the kitty it was an ideal chance to put some clear daylight between us and the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Utd. But we ****ed up.

Just out of interest, who do you think did better with their spending, us this summer or Spurs last summer?

That is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it IMO. You make out like we had the same side as last year PLUS £100m. Which we know isnt the case.

What we actually have is the same side as last year minus about 60 goals, our 2 best and £100m.

Suarez and Sturridge are massive losses and that will contribute to something. However, I do think Rodgers should be able to adapt to that and he hasnt. Thats the problem at the moment.

It is simple thats why Alex. And that is the most frustrating aspect of supporting LFC over the last 10 years. Wasted opportunities, when all we need to do is the simple step up in class of recruitment we fail. Again and again.

He could have thrown big money at the right striker, ****ed of Lovren (who's impact for £20 million is bordering on comedy levels of ****ness) and still had enough for Moreno, Lallana, Can and Origi. Surely our defence couldn't be any worse with Wisdom, Toure, Skrtel and Sakho as our CB choices.

No one could have guessed just how bad Ballotelli would be but still. What a catastrophic **** up this summer was in hindsight
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Rodgers is failing so many tests right now, I can't think of a single thing going for him. I actually think it was also very naive to rent Gerrards house, I know it doesn't matter onfield, but a manager (in any business) should never create a link like that.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

If we failed this summer, I dont think we will know until the end of the season or even next season. It was clearly a window with the longer term in mind.

Where I do think we ****ed up this summer is not replacing Suarez with a simlar player. The ones we got in were not the same at all. Lambert and Balotelli are both good in their own ways. Just not in last seasons system.

But the fact remains we dont have Suarez and Sturridge and they were our main threat last season. We are a blunt instrument at the moment.

Upsetting and infuriating Tee. Fans see it coming but are often classed as clueless because the club apparently knows what it is doing.

Regarding us or Spurs, I think both spent badly. Spurs signed a load of wingers but they did sign a so-called worldie in Lamela who hasnt really cut it yet.

I dont think Markovic is a bad signing. Just wasnt needed. Ibe should have been kept and we should have put that 20m towards a top forward. Said in Summer our targets and back-ups were bizarre. Slated for following paper talk but it wasnt just that. We went from Alexis to Remy to Balo. Is there no one in between? Moreno to Bertrand to Moreno. Seriously flawed

That said tho, like Alex said, Rodgers should be doing better with what he has. He is compounding the problem though and just comes across as stubborness. Throwing a game v Madrid was unacceptable

Agree, but that is a massive failing especially given that we had £75m to utilise on a replacement. We try and be too clever sometimes, when all that is needed is to do the obvious.

Tend to agree. If we had not bothered with Lovren or Balotelli and gone balls out for a bigger name striker I think things might have been different.

There is no way on this planet we can get worse defensively.

He stays 100% until the end of the season. The is LFC, FFS.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I think we could have gone and spent the lot on someone else (no idea who) but we would have all been moaning about the lack of defensive cover we hadnt brought in.

Who signed off on 20m for a LCB having signed Sakho the previous summer. It is just unacceptable. Keep hearing Sakho is crap on the ball, but he defends a lot better than the rest

Letting him go would be counter productive in so many aspects and unfair to the poor dude who would have to take over.

A few points off the drop. Leaking goals, hardly scoring, lost 4 on the trot, there should be no guarantee he stays til end of season.
