LCB and RCB is a new concept to me I must admit. A centre back is a centre back to me. 2 of the 4 we currently have should be able to do a job. I dont care which side. Id like to see what Lovren and Sakho could do. But we never see it.

A few points off the drop. Leaking goals, hardly scoring, lost 4 on the trot, there should be no guarantee he stays til end of season.

He has only a matter of a few games to turn it round and I just can't see hime doing that. What worries me is the lack of motivation in the players. They should be fighting for him but I just don't see it.

It shouldnt be difficult for them to play either side. Some defenders say its not easy to swap their position. He tried Sakho and Lovren once and ditched it. He wont pick Sakho. Will probably sell him in January

It isn't a new concept and shouldn't be to you.

Even at my **** level of footy when I was a kid I only played as a left centre back or left back. Stick me on the right side and I'd have performed much, much worse.

When you stop picking players on merit it is the beginning of the end. He made out players were dropped after Newcastle. Others come in and do well in Madrid. Then his 'dropped' players straight back in v chelsea. The underperformers have no threat of being dropped so no motivation to do well. The squad players know they wont get a fair crack

Honestly never have. I know players have a prefered side or whatever, but they should be flexible enough to change to suit another player in the side.

Imagine if Sakho and Lovren were the dream ticket, but we never saw it because they both wanted to play 10 yrds to the left of the other CB.

He needs time - just like Ferguson needed time. Build with continuity.

- I dont think he wanted Balotelli - I think he was forced on him by the number crushers in Bosten.

- He has to get his head around a major change at HM/DM or he will be gone soon.

- I dont think it's even close to fair to judge the back 4 until we get the midfield right. I am amazed that so few here even acknowledge the connection between a solid defense and a strong Defensive midfield. There is absolutely NO STRUCTURE in our defensive setup. Zero tracking.

We need a player who has played the DM/HM position through out his career who will set the standard and tell the youngsters how and where to move when we are off the ball.

We need the connection that existed between Hammann and Hypia/Carra.

I will never understand how we could ever expect that a player with SG's profile could fulfill this obligation. When did he ever show these qualities in the past???

Considering the loss of the best forward ever to play in the PL, keeping the format at HM is non-nonsensical.

He doesnt want a destroyer. He got Balo. Yeah probably didnt want him, but then having him he plays him in a way that makes him totally ineffective. He wanted Borini and Lambert and rarely gives either a sniff

This is what I mean. For every transfer issue, it is compounded by what he does in stubborn selections and systems. I really think he has lost the players. It looks grim

I could not agree more. The way he has played Balo leaves serious questions about his capabilities as a manager.

I think a win this week might change things.

Agree. Why arent they? Maybe they are as baffled by him this year as we are. Why change a winning system? Why isnt he playing the best team for the job. They are only human after all, and it will frustrate them like us.

It does look grim. I think those that want him gone will get their wish. I want him to stay but only if he drops 3-4 players. Otherwise, I want him gone too as his stubbornness is bordering on senile (all hypothetical of course).
