Would definitely agree with that. Good way of wording it.

If people are going in and going off thread, its not me. Sorry
****ing hell mate, you have been away ages and now all I see are endless posts in various threads all along the same lines. can't you just ease your way back in? Craig was the same, having the reply and instigate debate in every thread, to the casual observer its ****ing tiresome.

I am genuinely pleased you are back as this site needs more active posters, but just slow it down a little. We all know times are bad, we just don't need it reinforced 100 times a day.

I really don't see what the problem is with people being a little repetitive, especially when many see the same mistakes being made on the pitch every game, its only natural the same points are going to crop up.

It pisses me of when some posters just jump on a negative post and simply have a dig at the poster without actually addressing the points made. Thats repetitive, offers nothing, yet never gets addressed.
I may have been guilty of going overboard, I'll try to adjust, but I agree about the clique, nothing serious but get the feeling as well, maybe inevitable amongst the most active posters who maybe meet each other. I try to constructive most of time but I have been very frustrated and it really gets on nerves when other posters insinuate that me, and others, are not really fans just followers or that we are kneejerk or whatever.

What if Rodgers loses every game now until christmas, would it not have been better to replace him now then? Will I be called kneejerk then? I call it as I see it, and I don't he can turn it around so should be sacked.

That is my feeling, I think he lost his bearings, he can't find them and I think we may only pick up a three to five points over the next five games or so at best.

If Rodgers turns things around I'll happily eat my own words.

They replace Lovren (& Shaw) at the back and suddenly Southampton look like ****ing geniuses at defending

This is why I am none too convinced that we have the personnel

To defend well you have to have the right personnel, doing the right things

We dont have either of those at the moment which is why I keep saying we should just forget about even trying to defend and stay tight and concentrate on attacking more which was our forte last year
Although last season, Southampton also play more expansive, pressing football. This season it's a bit more direct.

            I have no idea

I didnt watch Lovren last year so I was neutral regarding him as a signing

What has been clear from watching him is that hes not a good defender in any way shape or form, he cant do the basics right, makes fundamental school boy errors on a regular basis

I think some are making excuses for him maybe in the hope that we can find a holding player who will waive a magic wand and make all this ****eness go away

However the stark reality is that the goals against column for Southampton (with Schneiderlin & Wanyama two decent holding players) only highlights further Lovrens true level

Southampton also replaced their goalkeeper and left back from last season, 3 out of the back 5 are new.

We were linked with Alderweireld summer before last too before he went to Atletico, he was great for them too. Should have just stuck to that plan. Southampton do have two defensive midfielders protecting them though, two very good ones.

Theres a few people that get on, dont think it's cliquey though really, certainly not in the football forum. "Theres a clique" is often the go to line when people spam the forum and get a bit of stick back. And from what I remember you got most grief because you were calling the manager a fraud etc when we were sat 4th in the table. And you were a bit repetitive lets be honest.

I'm not going to go searching through old posts Chris but you've definitely done it at least a few times.

I'd imagine most people are a little repetitive but it only becomes an issue if you disagree with the post.

For example, you can post the same positive stuff over and over again, if you 're a bit of a pessimist then you'll get told to cut it out or change the ****ing record.

I personally like to read things from all perspectives, its far more interesting and what the site should be.

I haven't seen Sarb start anything either?

Agree totally with that post Tanner. Spot on mate

Southamptons style last season was similar to Brendans possession based ideal not last seasons but his general preferred "death by football" system

They scored 54 goals and conceded 46 last season

This season they have scored 25 and conceded 6 using a more direct style

Last season we were much more direct ourselves we pressed high and looked to turn possession quickly and attack, rather than the slow methodical build up play we see now

That system suited us like it now suits Southampton

This is why I believe our problems wont be solved until we get in some decent defenders
