Not at all, unfortunately our results show that the former completely dictates/decides the latter.

Anyway, to bring the thread back to the positive Leicester are bottom of the league with a huge confidence crisis. An early goal would be ideal and I reckon Lambert can help there (either by scoring or assisting). Sterling could also win us a penalty I reckon. With tiredness in mind I'd go with:

    Mig
    Johnson Skrtel Toure? Moreno
    Henderson Lucas Can
    Lallana Sterling;
    Lambert

Christmas tree formation (to keep it seasonal) like we went on Saturday. Gerrard, Lovren and Borini to come on in the second half.

If Kolo is OK Lovren shouldn't get near the pitch, not even in the dying minutes.

Vonk, good question. He could be knackered, but he was subbed off early against Stoke and provided he wasn't injured could/should be ready to start against Leicester. Gerrard and Sterling have been played much more often for much longer game after game.
You're right, Gerrard & Sterling have played much longer, game after game. And both have been abysmal at times this season. Lucas and Toure can't play three times a week, be interesting to see what happens. Even more interesting would be if they don't start and their replacements do well. What then? At least that's a good problem to have.

Personally before resting Toure I'd rest Skrtel for a game. He could do with a time out. Also, Allen is getting to point of needing a rest, whilst Coutinho is ****ing useless away from Anfield.

        My GUESS:

        Migs
        Manquillo
        Skrtel
        Lovren
        Moreno
        Gerrard
        Can
        Hendo
        Sterling
        Lallana
        Lambert

Maybe even Markovic gets a game in for Raheem. That'd be 7 changes. Unlikely I guess, but would keep the team fresh. Wouldn't surprise me, after all we have Sunderland after followed by Basle then United away. Though maybe it'd be better to make a few changes tomorrow followed by a few at Home to Sunderland.
        Forwards.......

This game is on BT Sport in case anyone didn't know.

Would like to see the same team as the weekend with possibly Gerrard or Lallana for Coutinho. IMO - it's not the perfect team but it's all about building confidence and momentum at the mo' - and consistency in team selection will help. Hopefully, we'll be comfortable enough on 60 minutes to bring on Can, Markovic and Moreno.
            Another MASSIVE game

In all honesty I can't see us keeping a clean sheet. Leicester will be well up for this tonight, this is a massive game for them so I can see us struggling to a 2-2 draw or something. Assuming that Sterling and Coutinho can have a goalscoring impact

Hmmn, a 'huge blow' sounds dramatic, but I suppose it's a game we need to win. Another scrappy 1-0 would do me; Two wins on the bounce and a home game against Sunderland before Basel rock up.

On a side note, the Premier League's fixture machine must have run out of ideas when they put us against Leicester and Sunderland, both home and away, in the first two games of December and January respectively.

well considering how big our win v Stoke was,a defeat against Leicester would imo be huge

I've got a funny feeling it's gonna be one of those crazy games. 4-2 to us or something. Some mad **** is gonna happen.

Just realised Paul Konchesky will be playing for Leicester. His mum eh.

                        Put Sterling on his side.

I predict a hideous game of football, with a fair to decent chance of a hideous result.

We're expected to win, and we will get no credit for doing just that as it is the bare minimum required.

In some ways I think it does. We need to be working towards improving our systemic problems. Getting a lucky victory against a team who in most matches look very limited would be nice but not necessarily anything to build on.

Think Gerrard will start tonight and we'll win.
