    Joe Allen it is then.

Emre Can will remain in defence despite Lucas being out for up to six weeks, says Rodgers

6 weeks is a disaster....for me, coutinho sterling emre can and sakho have all been brilliant for the last 6 weeks or so....but lucas has been our most important player. Not our best, but most missed when he isnt there...

Get Kolo back and get Can in midfield.

          Has the team leaked yet?

Very important game for us if we want to get back into the top 4.

Without Lucas and we have Spurs, Southampton and Man City (plus Besiktas away in the Europa League) whilst Utd have Burnley, Swansea and Sunderland. We really can't afford to start dropping points to them.

Disappointed that Can won't play in midfield as he seemed the logical choice for me. On the one hand I can understand Rodgers being reluctant to break up our back 3 that have done well but on the other hand I'm not convinced (and never have been) that Allen will step up to the plate. He's just too bloody weak and doesn't have any outstanding attributes for me. One thing I will say is whether it's Can or Allen in midfield neither of them have Lucas's positional sense. That comes with experience. Lucas doesn't run around much but he's got this knack of being in the right place at the right time because he reads the game so well. Will be a big loss imo.

I think this could be one of the games of the season. I feel like Spurs will actually come to play, so it'll be two high pressing, attacking teams playing to win.

What's Spurs' defence like nowadays? All the headlines are taken by Kane/Erikson that we've forgotten if they're still vulnerable in defence and defensive midfield.

Surely with Coutinho, Sterling and Sturridge they have more to fear at Anfield and will need to sit back a little. Maybe not play Erikson from the start (since he only seems to contribute with 5 minutes to go anyway).
                      One tit for another.

2 clean sheets in the last 10, 14 goals conceded.

This will bite me on the ass but I don't think they are 'that' good.
Only creative player is Erikson, him and Kane provide the only goal threat.

Pochettino plays a high press with a high defensive line meaning absolute acres for Sturridge and Sterling to run into, our biggest problem will be if Mingolet tries to start attacks by passing from the back, if he kicks back passes first time we'll bypass their 1st pressing line and we are straight against their back 4.

Be worth betting on Lloris being sent off.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I've just been chatting with a Spurs supporter at work... he's VERY confident about tonight. I played down our chances due to Lucas being out - but I'm quite surprised how cocky he was about them winning easily tonight, given the last few results between the two sides.
