Great win, I thought that there were errors in the defensive side of the game, Sakho with a few errors and I thought the midfield was a little soft at times, but we scored 3 in the first time in what seems like ages. Wee need to push on from this and grab a place in the top 4

That's not saying much thoughOriginally posted by ChrisDR1968 View PostI actually don't think he's that bad.
Certainly a lot better than that tit Niall Quinn
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's 34, there's no shame in it, he's been a colossal player for our club but he should start the majority of games on the bench in my opinion. He does a job but anyone watching the game can surely he see he isn't quite up to the pace and level of our game lately?
An incredible player but no one goes on for ever.

And add to that it's quite dull when it's so far fetched as today.
Had some very important interceptions in the first half today, broke up several very dangerous situations.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostI don't think he was that bad today. Made a few damn good blocks and interceptions
Had a good day at the office, nothing spectacular, but good solid performance. Better than his midfield partner today.
Oh and his 10th goal this season!

I think he comes out with some quite insightful stuff regarding player movement etc. the stuff about coming back from injury too. I liked him and I ain't scared of saying it.Modifying post.

He had a good opportunity to win some more over tonight after the match but in typical Mario style he put himself back under the spotlight. He a silly boy.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHaha. He'll never win some over.
He scored the winner FFS.
I'm sure he'll be fine once he is away from the cameras. I'm sure the rest of the team will be more than happy with him.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Lovren did well I thought too.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostDid anyone notice that Lovren was on the right? I thought he played quite well too!
Ibe and Can were immense, we need some more man strength in midfield and I think we have now but with the added bonus of composure and good ball control.
Can will be our Matic.

How can you put yourself under the spotlight by walking away from it. The cameras would follow him whatever, and if he'd lorded it up then some would be saying he should tone it down a bit.
Fella can't win.Modifying post.

for me though, what an amazing impact player he would be to bring off the bench. In reality it would justify him leaving as well (if he wasn't starting all the games)
Do you know what mightn't be the craziest idea in the world though? Play the same team as tonight but swap Gerrard and Emre Can.....push Gerrard back and let him be the man that takes it out of defense. As long as he is positionally disciplined then it could work

IMO he should have just celebrated with his team mates like normal. He was busting a gut to get off the pitch & down the tunnel. One of our back room tried to congratulate him & he didn't break stride or shake his hand or anything. It looked like him sulking to me but I hope I'm wrong.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI don't see it
