It's an interesting proposition, but I'm not sure it would work out. Mainly because I think Gerrard is a bit to slow these days to be half covering the rb position. He would get in to some running duels there against pacey wingers, and not sure that would look all to pretty for an entire game.Originally posted by frank the tank View Post
for me though, what an amazing impact player he would be to bring off the bench. In reality it would justify him leaving as well (if he wasn't starting all the games)
Do you know what mightn't be the craziest idea in the world though? Play the same team as tonight but swap Gerrard and Emre Can.....push Gerrard back and let him be the man that takes it out of defense. As long as he is positionally disciplined then it could work
He would be formidable getting it out of defence though for sure.

I am the happiest **** cnut of a fan in town. Was pumping my fists so hard I almost knocked the TV off the wall. Gerrard was awesome, shame he got the hamstring injury just when he was up for the fight. This was the day we lost 4th spot.
Actually no, this was the day we won the league!! Its on!
One tit for another.

I agree. I also think it's because he doesn't feel he deserves to celebrate. Like he feels he hasn't yet earned the right to celebrate. I hope that's the case at leastOriginally posted by Buzzo View PostI don't see it
How can you put yourself under the spotlight by walking away from it. The cameras would follow him whatever, and if he'd lorded it up then some would be saying he should tone it down a bit.
Fella can't win.

Really tough game that was error strewn and typical of a quick turn around in games. Should have won by more and likely would have with a fit Sturridge. Not sure I get all the grief about Gerrard, sure when a high energy team like Spurs press high he will have tough occasions but for the most part I thought he did well.
I think it was a good tactical battle and at times Eriksen, Dembele and Lamela outnumbered Hendo and Gerrard in the space in between the lines. Hendo was running around like a dog chasing a stick on his tail at times, Gerrard tried to be more calmer but struggled at times.
I think all our players did well to grind it out like they did. I said a while back I thought Mario needed to fire for us to have a good season. Since then Raheem stepped up and now Danny's back, but he'll still have a part to play as Thursday / Sunday is approaching and league games after a long European trip will be tough.
Lovren stepped in and didn't put a foot wrong too, though he wasn't up against the quickest wide player in Chadli. Zaha / Puncheon / Bolasie and their pace would cause him more problems this weekend if he starts.Forwards.......

Just to be clear, were saying that Mario is digging a hole for himself right? Not me 🙏Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Anyone who scores a winner for us deserves to celebrate. Even if it's a shinner from 6". Celebrate if you give a stuff about the club or your team mates.Originally posted by yellowbelly74 View PostI agree. I also think it's because he doesn't feel he deserves to celebrate.
