As next season will be Rodgers' fourth and pretty much final (if he misses out on CL again) I reckon we'll see a much more forceful Rodgers in the summer. Specially if purchases aren't going the way he wants.

We need some aggression in our play. Why did we start like we did!? Should be showing no mercy to the 'top 4' teams & go toe to toe with them. We gave utd some time & space last game & arsenal had most of the possession today.
Summer needs to see some beef in midfield, a top striker & a competent defender. Those top 3 should be priority & must be the right players. Mix that with what we have & we should have a decent enough squad to go at it from the off next season!
It is way more hard to consistently break into that top 4 now with about 6 teams more than capable! Top 2 will usually be chavs & city for all their spending power, so that leaves only 2 more spots. Im happy competing consistently for top 4 but don't mind if we miss out on the odd occasion but we must still be able to do better against the big spenders a little better.

Rest of the season will just piddle away now, barring a big cup win next week, but you'd have to have us as underdogs for that now.

I thought the pass was the right choice - Markovic had a 1v1, Sterling had an open net. Normally Markovic's passing is good but that was ****ing rubbish. Right decision, terrible execution.

Yup the idea was right, the execution really wasn't. Such a shame because we were starting to get in behind them at that point, game really could have been quite different if we'd scored then like we should have.

It just smacked of a player suffering with his confidence. If he'd been right on top of his game, Markovic would have cushioned that across to Raheem Sterling with guile and precision, and then Raheem would have missed the ball and fallen flat on his arse. It wasn't going our way today. Markovic, if he'd shot, would have been given abuse for not passing to Raheem when he would have invariably missed.

Id withdraw the £100k offer to Sterling & replace it with an offer in keeping with his recent performances. Maybe £60k pw. Admittedly he should have had a tap in if Lazar got the weight right in the 1st half but you want more from your potential top earner.
