i look at the squad + Benteke and I think it is very strong on paper. I actually can't remember seeing a Liverpool side with so much pace and flair in it. The likely starting XI is not as good as the two runner up teams spearheaded by Torres and then Suarez but potentially greater depth there.
Sterling is a quality player but his position is well covered so not sure it will be that huge of a loss.
Too much weight is being given to the 'system'. I think a change back to a back 4 will be fairly significant but the differences between 4-3-3 and 4-3-2-1 are minimal. The philosophy will be similar but hopefully a bit more adaptive to the actual situations within each game.
How successful the team will be comes down to how they gel and make decisions on the field together.
Although not sure whether this is just me or not, but does anyone else look at other teams in the league and think the average standard of player at lower and mid table PL clubs has risen significantly since even 5 years ago.
It looks like a decent lfc squad especially compared to some others I've seen in my lifetime but then again so do most of the PL squads at every club.
