The man of the match Hull Thread in its present state is literally my favourite thread of all time and sums up perfectly my feelings on that performance

I think that's a little harsh. For me, Mignolet, Coutinho, Allen and Lovren came out of that with some distinction. The rest of the team were gash.

Give up on the diamond lads, it'll never happen again. We will not have two strikers as good as the SAS for a long time. Certainly not one like Luis who was a leader and would press all game. Rodgers built the team around Suarez and it's fell to pieces now he's left.

Even if we had signed Alexis, we'd have just been a poorer version of last seasons team. Of course, that all doesn't mean we can't play the same brand of football. We can still press high with the right players leading the line in a front three or with one up top. I hope whatever coach we have in next season employs those tactics.
